A couple questions, one that has probably been addressed before.

1. As queen of the changelings, why didn't Chrysalis at least attempt to imitate Cadence's personality? At the very least, you would expect her to be a little nicer, being a master manipulator. That's all it would take, none would be the wiser, Canterlot is hers.

2. Is a ponies cutie mark determined at the point they discover it, or is it already determined at their birth? Similarly, a pony's name sometimes alludes to their talent. Is a parent part of the process for determining their talent?

1. because she's the villain, she's not supposed to win! also: her plan is flawless... why imitate the weak cadence when she can reaches her goals anyway?

2. probably a mix of both... to what it would be connected is determined by birth, but how it really looks like depends on the circumstances of getting it (just theories)
as far as i know the names that refer to the cutie marks are fanon names.. they have the flaw of often naming them after their CM whereas the name must be there way before the cm... look at the canon names, they mostly have nothing to do with the CM (with a few exceptions of course (snips and snails for instance)
