It's only good against op 1/1 stuff. And tbh, most things I want to get rid of so far are way above that.
And really, 4 cards in your deck that are only useful in a rather certain special cenario?
Sounds really unlogical to me.
But I don't get these mana or life paying cards anyways, never seen the appeal of losing 2 life per unspent mana for mediocre effects. :/

It's for utility and variety. That's really all. The way you can say, fuck you, I play a blue deck, but I want (insert color in here) to be in it as well, without sacrificing the emphasis on blue.

Yep, seen that one as well, but it bugs me that most nonstandard lands come into play tapped or so. It seems as there aren't all that many great one for single coloured decks. ;>

The only thing that worries me a bit is my defense atm. I have some counters and blockers and such, but not all that much till I got some stuff out already.
That, and that I'm kinda helpless against stuff like enchantments etc, unless I counter them.
But blue just doesn't offer many ways to get rid of them I guess.


Also:
Damn those decks people build are weird. I don't even most of them....
The skip totally amazing cards and put akward things into them instead. Like, what do you even try to do there?! >_<

Some easy things for defensive purposes is Vapor Snag and using non-illusions can help has well. Like Delver of Secrets if you have enough instants and sorceries.

Of course you don't have to stay blue, you can splash slightly for some help from another color or even try and go for a tempo style build that will allow you to do some crazy things turn after turn.

But deck thinning? Srsly?
Why?
It rather slows your deck down and can actually ruin your game just because you have to wait a turn to play stuff because of that card instead of a good ol' island.

Most just use fetch lands if they want to thin the deck.

Dexter's Laboratory... was indeed an absolutely fantastic show. I miss it.

Well, it depends on the deck. If you are playing red burn for instance, a few life here and there isn't going to matter much, because if he ain't dead by turn six or so, you lose anyways.

I watched football since 04 very casually. Got more serious back in 2010 and watched a ton the 2011 season.

This season I have sunday ticket... so I get to watch every game.

The first memory of F1 that I have is from the final race of 1997 (I was 3 at the time), mostly thanks to my father's reaction to this.

He was pretty obsessed with F1 as well. He used to hold me on one of his knees while he was watching the races. He started watching some time in the '70s I believe, and was a big fan of the racing in the mid-late '80s and early '90s. I quit in 2004 simply because I didn't have much time on my hands and Schumacher was dominating everything (which made it slightly boring to watch, but I still loved seeing him win), but he kept watching. I only started watching again around mid-2011 simply because someone told me that the racing was genuinely good again.

I don't know my first memory of football.... I watched basketball when I was really young, then baseball, then football as of now.
