What's more interesting is why the pickup rolled. If you've never been on a ridge climb, the road zigzags up a the side of a mountain, making 180-degree turns and very steep climbs. I came around one of those turns and a cop was driving right down the middle of the road, my guess was to swing wide for the turn. I drove off the road to the inside (of the ridge, outside of the turn) to avoid him, but when I tried to pull back on the road, the rear tire hooked the edge and didn't follow. The truck spun counterclockwise to the other side of the road, hit the dirt sideways and started rolling, coming to a stop on its side. Engine caught fire—small, nothing major—, and I had to drag the passenger out the driver's side. Which isn't easy, by the way. Those doors are flippin' heavy and there is a remarkable lack of footholds to use for climbing when the driver door is "up".
The cop never even stopped, he just called another one that showed up about half and hour later.
