There need not be any "space" between the 2m and 4m portal. It's prefectly mathematically valid. For instance, take a sheet of paper, draw a circle of radius 4 and one of radius 2, it's perfectly mathematically valid to say "okay, now we say these two are really "the same place". Rigorously speaking, the circles have 'the same number of points' - what gets warped is the metric (measure of length/distance), but there still is one. The 2D case is much simpler, let me work this out - I actually just did a proof yesterday proving the construction is valid.

    I know, it's awesome.

I need to figure exactly what I want to get degrees in... And whether I ever want to do a PhD.

You know, I like reading what you really really intelligent people say the most out of all the threadgoers.

Hehe, Delph is silly with his big words..
    But that actually makes sense.

Most universities just offer a Mathematics bachelor's. And rightly so - you need at least a basic grounding in quite a few fields for advanced work. Answers about number theory (roughly, properties of integers) pop out of complex analysis (calculus and beyond with complex numbers), answers about topology (study of 'connectedness' or 'closeness') out of algebra (the study of operations).

If you're thinking of the Warcraft portal to Outland, I think that's a wormhole, otherwise the size difference wouldn't make sense. If you sent something through that was bigger than the portal on the other side, it would be compressed like playdough and then resume its original (or reasonable) density on the other side. If you compressed something beyond a certain point to where...trying to use simple words here but not having much luck so I'll just say it: beyond the neutron or quantum exclusion principle (ask me if you need those defined), you'd have the equivalent of a several orders of magnitude more than a thermonuclear explosion, or antimatter annihilation, respectively.

    A lot.

Hey bud, been busy, hence the lack of updates. Cramming a lot of work hours in before I go on vacation.

Antimatter is fun.. Besides the "kill everything" part when it comes into contact with normal matter

Well, the Universities I am thinking about going to don't offer Mathematics bachelors, only Science bachelors with a major in Mathematics.

It's also EXTREMELY hard to produce.

No, I wasn't thinking of that, though it did come up while I was reading your posts. And thanks for that, I really appreciate that. I know you don't like me or support most of what I do terribly much, but I really enjoy discussing this stuff with you. Helps me learn more, and I really like learning about science shit.

Oh, they're called that, but it's basically the same thing. I'm strictly speaking getting a B.A., but it's a degree in math.

So is normal matter. Not a lot of production of either happens.
