Could it be that you're putting them im backwards? (just a posibility as I haven't seen how the inside of the cases are)
Check for any memory profiles in the BIOS. Mine originally came as 133somehting I think, but had a profile for the 1600 I'm running at.
Mine wouldn't take the activation code at all.
Found out a couple of months later on a reinstall that there was a typo in the code written on the box.
Zip-ties! Lots of them!
And lots of fun when you get them both running with ALL the programs! \o/
Oh, and come watch Cherry scream at Amnesia.

I wish I could watch the stream but I'm at work.
As for the bay drives, no I'm not putting them in incorrectly, because the same problem occurs if you use the underside of the bay (plus it looks stupid).
As for the memory, I know it came at a certain default, but when we put it into XMP like we are supposed to, it goes to 2133 like it should, but then doesn't stay past 1 reboot. The overclock is failing. We will try increasing the RAM voltage because we read that some people had success with this. In the meantime, the 19something is plenty fast.
My old computer had the same install, so I know the code is fine, it's just a nuisance because Microsoft doesn't realize it's still only on one machine. It's fixed on mine, but still gotta call about Mr. Eternal's.
And yes, zip ties everywhere! The problem currently is because of said silly snaking of the power cables, it's pressing against the case side fans, but I think with a fan grate we can fix that. Just haven't had the time.
And yes, install ALL the things \o/
