My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Part 8: Mmmcake

Since I've spent the last 24 hours explaining this story in various levels of detail, I'm gonna type out the full detail so I can just link here.

As you probably know, we have quite a few transgendered people in the thread - muCephei, Remilia, and most recently Yeast among them. I've felt something of a fascination with it for a while, and was getting a bit curious. So last week, when Cephei mentioned she'd found a really great chat of TG folks that she'd been spending time in, I made a dummy account, tracked the group down through her profile, and joined up. I lurked for a while, and eventually spoke up. I told them I was curious and asked if I could stay for a while, and we chatted for a bit. The people in the channel decided quite quickly that I was in fact trans and just hasn't realized it yet, so I figured what the hell and went full girl-mode in that chat for a week.

Turns out, I needed it, bad. I'd been holding back tons of stuff because of some pretty deep-ingrained gender roles, stuff I hadn't even realized. Everyone on there was great, and I honestly had a great time. Anyway, I thought I had everything figured out last night, I'd decided I was male but had been locking a bunch of stuff up, so I came back to Ruom's stream group where I spend a lot of my time and told this whole story, to hilarious effect. Got mocked out the ass, as I'd have expected, but all in good fun. To my surprise, a few people came forward with gender concerns they'd been holding in too, apparently I wasn't the only one. It was a really fun night - I'd wanted to make some interesting choices, and that certainly blew the status quo wide open.

Anyway, for all my certainty last night, I found myself right back in that chat this morning. So hell if I know. And that's the story.

But I feel like everyone else talks to each other, and they all have fun doing so, and I just miss out. That's what it was like before I left the thread for a month for me, I literally never talked to people on steam. Well, I occasionally did, but after my hiatus I talked to people on Steam a lot more. I just want don't want to lose friendship with the people I like because I don't talk to them often enough. And Goddamnit Depressive Black Metal is really not helping my mood to improve.

To be honest, if you want to talk to some of the guys here you should just throw them a pm. Or a poke on steam.

The only ones I really talk to outside the thread are you, Mixup, Anakonda, Goriq and Yeast. And it's not like I don't want to talk to everyone, but it's just a mixture of "I have nothing to say" and "holy shit new people /shy".

But if you want to talk to someone, I think no matter who you message, they will message you back.

Fucking thank you. A popular opinion among RHCP fans is that By the Way sucked. I loved the more alternative mellow sound of it. Midnight is one of my favorite songs by them overall.

I fell in love with them when I got Californication, so I'm well familiar with Savior. Wasn't really one of my favorites on the album though. Venice Queen is awesome though. So is "In the Company of Wolves" by Incubus. The reason I put those two songs together (and I think I've mentioned this before) is that both songs almost feel like two different songs in one. The pace, everything completely changes midway through.

Honestly, I'd approach it as the quest for knowledge, which will help you in the first part of your post. The only thing to be nervous about would be the reception you get, which from what I've heard from Keen was not bad at all. Enter with open eyes and an open heart. You will gain nothing but a new found knowledge about them, and yourself. What's there to fear from this?

I am still flabbergasted, knocked on my ass, surprised, and every other form of the expression. Maybe it's because I don't know you as well as others, but it just seems like your attitude has taken a full 180.

I'd say it happens IRL too. Now, this also depends on the level of extroversion of your friends, and their overall attitude at approaching things. My friend was a huge cock block, for example.

None taken. I generally do seem like that, and I have no idea why. I always get compared to a grumpy old man by isi (I think it's isi at least...), but I want to be more open, and happy, and caring, I just don't know how to. I think I may lift my refusal to use smileys. Even though they look goddamn terrible.

Emoticons and smileys actually helps a ton.

When I joined the thread I -never- used them. Maybe a "" after a really happy sentence, but that was it. But now I throw them around like crazy. They have a clear effect on the reader, and not only does it help you keep control of the conversation, but it actually spreads emotions much better.

I feel the same way sometimes, I miss a lot of stuff, I don't post very often anymore, I don't have very many of you on steam, and those I do, I never speak to anyway.

*Shrug* But that's okay I guess, sometimes I feel pressured to entertain or carry on a dying conversation, and that's really stressful to me.

But if anyone ever wants to talk to me, I always have MMO open and I respond to PMs regularly, I'm on steam, and many IMs, etc.

I'm a really good listener for people going through something, too.
