PvP Maps and Spawn points

Hi, I am currently in the planning phase of creating a PvP custom map for multiplayer and one thing I am not sure of. I have made a couple of maps in the past but they were single player adventure style maps so this is my first map designed for multi-player and PvP but one thing I would like to know is how is spawning done in PvP maps? Is it possible to assign multiple spawn points or how does it work because I am struggling trying to figure it out. :/

Me and a friend are making a capture the flag map, 5v5, and what we decided to do was make a wooden house around each flag, with a room in each with 5 beds in it for spawn point.
