Client problem?

so my launcher starts shows it loading and then just disappears, it doesn't crash i don't think i can still see the icon at the bottom of the screen but i can't click on it to "maximize" it. was just trying to update it.

anyone else have this problem? do i have to redownload it?

Yup, just tried it, did a bit of downloading then disappeared. Task manager said it was still running but could not bring the login screen back up. Wierd

Doing the same to me... And here I thought it was because I tried to move it and then perma-broke it.
Well, hell, this was a new download that was completely unnecessary.

Anyone have any insight into why this might be happening?

I actually opened the topic a few seconds after having started the client. Alas, a few seconds too late - the same thing has just happened to me.

I too have this problem. I assume it'll be fixed before the weekend though, considering so many people seem to be having this problem.

I finished the approx 125mb update about an hr ago. No probs at all then.

my friend cant even get the launcher to install. as soon as she tries she is getting error screen. the details are gibberish and tell me NOTHING useful

I have the same problem, but it's not really an issue right now. If it persists through to same time tomorrow, then It'll be an issue, at least for me anyway.

I had downloaded the patch earlier this evening and no problems....until i did it again prior to logging my system off. Now i have the launcher at the bottom of my page and the same issue as those who have posted. Actually now mine says the path does not exist.

yeah mine downloaded a bit of something then messed up, not the biggest deal at the moment true just i am like others and would hate to miss BWE3 XD

Just make a shortcut to the .exe, right click > properties, then change the target to

"C:/whatever/Guild Wars 2/GW2.exe" -useoldlauncher

Here's what my issue looks like on Windows 7:
After I run the installer, it pops up and downloads to exactly 10324 Kb every time, then the download speed counts down to zero before it blinks once. Then, it looks like it's going to start downloading again, but then disappears.
The icon stays at the bottom of the task bar. I can hover over it to try to view a preview, but the window that shows up is blank and looks kinda broken.
I can't tell if it's still downloading or not, but if I try to run the installer again, it tells me there's already one running.

Weird stuff.

What about with installing it? It's doing the same thing, but there's no launcher yet.

Another update justgot pushed hopefully it's a fix for the problem.

closed the window when it minimized and restarted the client, downloaded and works fine now. New graphics for the launcher now.
