    Server Locations

Now, after a while of playing a myriad of games(gw1, Diablo 2, WoW, Slew of CnC games, LoL, etc), I've noticed how important Latency is- especially for PVP. Games where I have sub-50ms, vs 400+ ms have been a world of difference.(Quoted as the reason why Oceanic realms were so far behind on Regional Firsts were high latency)

So the question is: Is there any word on where GW2 servers will be located, and which worlds are attached to which servers?

    Texas. :O

    Seriously.
I hope you haven't forgotten my role in this little story. I'm the leading man. You know what they say about the leading man? He never dies.

If you give in to your impulses in this world, the price is that it changes your personality in the real world. The player and character are one and the same.

    US/World - Dallas? Texas
    EU - Frankfurt, Germany

    They really need Asian servers.

    Everyone puts servers in Texas.

It's pretty centrally located and it's cheap. No reason not to.

But yeah, I think they should put some servers for the people on the other side of the international date line. Australia to Texas is a really long way.

Eh I think most of us are used to it, from Eastern Australia it's no worse than (DON'T SHOOT ME) WoW or any other MMO... I do feel sorry for people in Perth though.

Me too, but it has nothing to do with pings

Correct. The data center they are using is impressive, to say the least. The building has never lost power (seriously, it has 12 different feeds into the building, and I want to say that they are on 4 separate grids). It has 10 Tbps of switching and routing capacity, multiple 10 GB trunks coming in from a crap ton of couriers. And one of the security guards makes Michael Clarke Duncan look like Dave Chappelle.
