Yes, 1gb will give me crazy fast downloads
No, it will be full of problems and isnt worth the price
Of course! I pay Comcast that much right now for 20mb/s, why wouldn't I want 5x that through a company that actually deserves my money?
In a heartbeat. I already pay that with Comcast and it's obviously no where near as fast, and not ever having to deal with Comcast customer service on top of that would be an added bonus. Please bring to Florida!
i dl wth 300kb / sec....................... what do you think ?

WoW Cinematics : WotLK>WoD=MoP>Vanilla=Cataclysm>TBC
Way better then anything you can get in Ontario for that price, not that I wouldn't say the same about most of other posters current ISPs
Won't be a noticeable difference from my current 120Mb/s until infrastructures evolve a bit more. It's rare for me to find a service provider that uploads at anything over 10Mb/s anyway.
I have had 100/100 Mb up and down speed for a few years now and tbh.
I still haven't used its full potential as most download servers seams to be capped at around 6-15ish Mbs upload speed.
So i don't really really think it will be worth the money at least not until most servers gets a boost in upload speed.
I agree. The only way to fully saturate a 100+ connection is with well seeded torrents. Most web or ftp servers just can't keep up.
But on topic, is google fiber worth it? Well it really depends on what your other options are, and what you mainly use your internet connection for.

Id love it, as right now I pay $50.00 for 1.5mb wireless internet from Verizon with a 5gb max monthly download. But honestly this will never be available at my house as there will never even be cable or DSL available at my house. So ya Id pretty much take anything I can get at this point I used to have 50mb internet and moved to the country and now roll with 1.5mb 3G.
Even if it became available in Canada I wouldn't bother, I already have 100/Mb already for less than the $70 and I have yet to fully utilize my current ISP's potential as most sites and servers can't even handle that.
And yes, I'll be killin' for fiber if/when it gets here. I pay $45US per month for Cox Communications cable service now in Wichita, Kansas. KC isn't too far away from here, maybe if I pre-register.....

Is it just me or does it seem pointless? Most of the direct downloads that I do either wont or cant let you download anywhere remotely near that speed, even if you have the capability. Of course peer downloading is different, but the more proprietary ones that are for specific games or companies seem to be so highly flawed that you cant really utilize your DL effectively.
I would pay double there cost if they can find a way to reduce latency and allow me to get uploading/downloading advantages over peers.

If I can get it here, I will. Currently sitting around 20MB/s upload and download, plus the TV package sounds amazing.
Yep, all depends on if it ever gets to where I am at.
