If you're going for sheer enjoyment and convenience, then yes, you cant compete with engineering. But in the min/max conversation, we have to look at raw benefits. i.e. the Synapse Springs, helms, and trinket.
The helm will probably be replaced by a heroic helm in T14, as was the helms in T11. And seeing that the helms do not get an upgrade through tiers, they will only be useful for a few months or weeks, dependent upon your guild's progression/loot system. The customization of the cogwheels might last it to the next tier, but not to heroic T15.
The trinket will probably suffer the same fate when heroic items start to appear. All in all, these benefits will only last for the first tier and then no longer apply, leaving the glove enchant.

I really hope this time around they update the JC Eyes to be on par with epic gem bonuses, they forgot to do that in Cata.![]()
Sounds like Engineering needs to be brought in line for DPS. Even if it was, it has so many cool quality of life things that I'll probably roll it anyway.
looking at the stats i'm kinda happy, but even if all of them were the same i would stay at ingi + jc. spimply for the benefits. jc helps you to get gems in your slots for free, ingi gives you rocketboots and a lot of fun gimmiks.
compared to other professions i realy miss that, like in bc with the weppons you could create or leatherworking the raid support. just to give it a reason why.
if you have 305 or 320 stats, yeah in simcraft thats a diffrence but in the actual game it's more like a water drop on a hot stone.
This makes no sense. Even if you put 5k stamina for mining it's useless for PvE DPS. So if you're a tank to whom the stamina is worth it then mining already provides a benefit on par with the other professions. How about Herbalism and Skinning being way worse because they give secondary ratings?
Cairne wanted to thank him again, to offer encouragement, praise for a task so successfully completed. For being able to bear such burdens. But Saurfang was an orc, not a blood elf, and lavish compliments and effusion would not be welcomed or wanted.
Tailoring worries me a lot, if the numbers are right and they don't change it tailoring will be the worst caster crafting profession in MoP.
Can an engineer on beta perhaps confirm this? I see that the MoP glove enchants are 170 Haste, 170 Mastery, 170 Expertise, and 170 Strength. For strength users, that'd be right at 320 Strength like intended, but for other classes that's only 170 of a secondary stat (and a less than ideal one for Fire Mages needing to stack Crit). Even they don't stack, it sounds like I need roll Engineering for min/max Fire Mage PVE.

Darkglow Embroidery got changed to 3000 spirit this build.
WoW, this would really of help.now i can really compare...
Inscription also has the option of a spirit enchant for healers, which doesn't exist for anyone else:

So you have an option to lose 200 int but gain 520 spirit if you want to, I'd consider it to be better than enchanting because of that option.
You have to use the old Alch flask which just upgrades to 320 in stats. Also a normal flasks gives you 1320 stats instead of the normal 1000 AND has a 2h duratation.
I have been a leatherworker for 4 tiers now and in my opinion lw bonuses top engineering ones simply of the static bonus which is permanent, not to mention that when at the begining of an expansion the lw only chants for pants are op, even if a non lw can get a similar max lvl enchant.
Sometimes "on use" buffs can be better if you use them during other cooldowns. Some people dont like the extra buttons or macros though.
As an Agi user engineering is very OP. The reason being, there is currently no glove agi enchant for non engineers and the possibility of stacking with a normal enchant. So basically you get 490 agi for free when non engineers dont get anything. Of course Enchanting isnt complete yet but there was no agi glove enchant in Cata either, we used the Wrath one.
At the beginning of Cata there were no primary stat bracer enchants so the 130 you get from LW made it the best profession for everyone except tanks. But now they will have those enchants when the game goes live so you really just get the normal bonus plus it costs less.
Of course Im not going to change professions to min/max since I use them to make gold and as long as they provide some beneficial DPS bonus Im fine.
Engineering is being nerfed and is now equal to the other professions in terms of stat benefit.
+1920 for 10 sec once per minute = 1920/6 = 320
I just noticed the Alchemy bonus for the Spirit flask is 480 and not 320. What the hell are they smoking?
