Q about "ranger pets"

So... It says max level 18 on my boar, and max level 37 or something on the blood raptor.

What does that mean exactly?

Wouldn't a level 37 pet have difficulty attacking a raid boss?

Have you not trained at the rogue trainer? The pets should be pretty close to your level. And also - when you say Boar, I'm sure you mean the Greater" boar version - not the low level one right?

I just started so its the lowbie boar and it says "max level 18" on it.

As you lvl up you will get abilities that summon higher lvl pets of each type. You will have a razor beast that goes to lvl 20 or so and then you will get the greater razor beast, or something along those lines.

What server are you on?

Boar -> greater boar
=
Bear form -> dire bear form

As you level up you have to go back to your trainer and he will teach you new ranks of "pet X" which increases its level.

After you put 24 talent points in the Ranger tree you unlock the "Greater Razorbeast". Which you can then take up to level 50.
