Hi all,
I'm looking for a bit of advice from people who had the opportunity to enjoy the beta. So, I've been impressed with what I've seen of Guild Wars 2, and I know that I will enjoy the game if I purchase it. My debate regarding the purchase concerns my personal life. First, my wife and I are expecting our first child in October. Obviously, I will need to manage time in a whole different way after the baby arrives. Second, I am about to enter my third year of law school. Law school itself isn't really that great of a burden anymore. I've already locked up my job post-graduation/passing the bar, and I don't have to devote nearly as much time to school as I used to. Still, it's another area that requires a significant amount of attention. Simply, I won't be able to devote a ton of time to playing Guild Wars.
So, my question is this: How do you think the time commitment required to enjoy Guild Wars will compare to other MMOs? My experience has been mostly with WOW and Rift, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. Yet in those games, I didn't feel like I was really getting the experience I was paying for until the later levels of leveling and the end-game raids. Stated differently, I felt that WOW and Rift primarily rewarded those who had the most time to invest, and I'm not sure I could enjoy those games again with where I am now at in life. I'm not saying that games shouldn't reward players who put the time in, but I'm just wondering if I'll be able to enjoy Guild Wars when I can only devote an hour or two a day to the game. So, what do you think?
I appreciate any responses, especially those from people who find themselves in similar situations to my own.
Thanks!
