    Thumbs up Need Help Choosing A Monitor

    Hello Champs

    So.. I dropped my balls the second before I was about to order my build a month ago, but now I have picked them up again.

    Here are the specifications:
    MB: ASUS P8Z77-M
    CPU: 3570k
    GPU: Sapphire 7850
    RAM: Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB
    CASE: FD Arc Mini
    PSU: SeaSonic 520M

    I got a HDD and a CDROM drive (waiting with the SSD)

    The only thing I need to find is a monitor, full-filling these criteria:
    * Cheap, as the rest of the build
    * 21-23" preferably 21,5" or 22"
    * 1080p

    The Arc Mini won't fit the ASRock Z77 Pro3 IIRC, go for the Arc Midi instead.

    I've got 2x of the ASUS VH242H, they're good at the pricepoint, unfortunately Komplett.dk doesn't sell ASUS monitors.

    Ow, was a typo, it was meant to be the ASUS P8Z77-M.

    It annoys me a bit the monitor is with built-in audio. Do you ever use it?

    Currently I have been looking at these two:
    ASUS VE228D
    Dell U2312HM

    I'm trying to find an ASUS one 23" without speakers at the moment.

    I bought a Samsung S23A750D from Proshop like half a year ago. It costs like 300 kr. more now though and it's not cheap to start off with :P.
    But I really like it. It's one hell of an excellent monitor. Really thin, smooth layout and the screen itself is beautiful! The 3D feature its equipped with is rather cool, its a little mehh, but its fun and functions well .

    BUT! Notice that it only has DisplayPort and HDMI connectors in the back, so if you plan on using it through DVI (as I did, since my old GFX card didnt have DP and HDMI sucks, but I had planned to get a new computer later, so I just postponed the use of it) you shouldnt buy it obviously.
    Rig:
    Intel i5-3570K @ 4.0GHz | Corsair H100 | ASUS GTX670 2GB DirectCU II | ASUS Sabertooth Z77 | 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz
    750W Corsair TX V2 | 1 TB WD Caviar Black | 120GB Corsair Force Series 3 | Cooler Master Storm Stryker

    Hehe ^_^ I think you missed the first point of the criteria:
    * Cheap, as the rest of the build

    I have owned an Asus monitor and I wouldn't recommend it. I've had to RMA it twice and the one im running as a replacement is going out too.

    Please specify the model, llose.

    I haven't had a problem with the built in speakers, since I never use them.

    What was the issue with it? I've never had an issue with any ASUS products apart from the RAM module area being faulty.

    I know it doesn't answer your question, but get a 7770 as opposed to a 7850. Lower number, but better card.
