Do you agree with ArenaNet's decision not to have mounts in the game?
I personally feel that mounts are not as important in this game since you have instant travel using waypoints (although it cost quite a bit at higher levels)
Although, I do feel that the speed of players is a bit slow.

Slow? there's like 500 waypoints... there's no need for mounts at all.

I do very much enjoy my mounts in WoW but I have not missed them one bit in GW2 so far. I have never had that feeling 'dang it, I just wish I had a mount right now!'. It's only when people bring it up do I even remember about them really.

Its so slow to get aroun even with waypoints, id rather just have a speed boost like in some of the cities.

I would like them for cosmetics , just make em give %33 movespeed aka swiftness and its more than enough

Nah I would of prefered there being mounts, but there rare only obtainable at 80 from the explorer mode dungeons.
I don't always hunt things, But when I do, It's because they're things & I'm a Bear.

The only reason I want mounts is because they're cool, and you get something to collect.
But they would also be nearly worthless, so I guess it equals out.

for the first time playing though. Its ok without mounts. For the second and third. not having mounts will suck. Especialy when you die near a contested WP and no one bothers to ress you because they got wowinitis. Having to be asshats because they can. Then the game will be old fast

Don't really feel the need for mounts. WoW Vanilla? Now that's where you needed a freakin' mount and damn did you feel the burn walking from top to bottom of the barrens because there weren't many flight paths.
In GW2 travel seems a cakewalk. You might say 'Waypoints aren't free' but... Let me put something into perspective.
How much did I spend on a mount? 5g for 20, 60g for 40, 300g for 60, 250g for azeroth flying, 500g for northrend flying, 5000g for 280% flying, 5000g for 310% flying, and that's without faction discounts and post-mount cost nerf.
Let's see, 11095? 11k gold so I can fly places quicker - not even instant world teleports. GW2 offers instant cross-world teleports for a few silver at level 80.

I like the idea of not having mounts, but having SO MANY WAYPOINTS AND LOADING SCREENS is even worse....
So i'd rather have a lot less waypoints but a mount instead.
Because right now it's even worse than flying mounts, you just teleport everywhere and don't travel at all.
Refusing mounts just to be "so different than wow" is ridiculous.

Nah, I'm okay with no mounts. Waypoint system is alright. Mounts can quite often get pretty ridiculous very fast. I think unless you have truly HUGE worlds (SWG) or good mounted combat system - mounts can be skipped.
The night is dark and full of terrors...
