Query about story quests

I started playing as a norn with a friend of mine, but they don't play as much as me and I ende dup leveling a human.

Decided to switch the human over to being the toon i'll level with my friend, and the norn I'll play on my own. However, when my friend goes to do the norn story quests (or vice versa) will we will be given the option to zone in and help them? (I was able to when on the norn, but not sure if the human will be able too)
