I feel so loved, despite not being a Shaman specific mod for quite a while now.
Really, though. If anyone's around the forum and just posting here and there everyday, your time commitment won't be all that much higher.
I'm very happy I made the plunge to be a mod a few years back. It's actually been a very rewarding experience.
I'd like to think many others (mods) share the same thoughts on the subject, and I wish the best of luck to all of you who are interested!
Indeed, being a mod is pretty rewarding. I spend 95% of my time as a non-Mod poster, so the time commitment is really not much at all, I'd be on the forums anyway, and I have learned so much from the other mods (not just my fellow Shaman mods either). However, don't apply if you think its all about smacking people with ban hammers and locking threads. It really isn't, in fact we try to be as lenient as possible and let a lot slide.
i want the guy who always argues with endus to be a mod on this forum lol
That's actually already happened before.
I know myself, Undefetter, Endus, and zylya have all had points in our time as moderators where we've butted heads and not agreed on various points. We haven't let it get the best of us, by any means.
We're regular posters like anyone else, with our own ideas and opinions on things. The role of 'Moderator' isn't one of "all must agree on everything" or "Blizzard can do no wrong". It's just one where we ensure the rules of these forums are followed.
Maybe I'd apply if I still played my Shaman... It gets a little boring at work sometimes!
RETH
Heck, my post count exists because I like discussion. And to me, "discussion" does not involve an echo chamber where everyone agrees with me. I absolutely welcome different viewpoints, especially on the moderator staff. I don't want to post ideas here and have every post be a "good show, Endus old chap" or some such.
In all seriousness, if you haven't been earning multiple bans or pushing mods to issue in-thread warnings, I'm likely to vote in your favor if you've applied and meet the requirements. Even if I've posted big snarly diatribes about why I think you're wrong somewhere. And nobody's gotten bans or in-thread warnings because they disagreed with me. So don't not apply because you think the existing mods'll veto.

Would also be nice if it was an enhancer, current mods play elemental and resto iirc.
Not that they don't know enhancement, but they aren't as passionate about it as eg Levva was.
(no offense to the mods but I'm sure they know what I mean).

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
When I became a Mod I had like a total of 300 posts? Its just about activity in the thread you want to join. Theres a minimum level of activity required but you don't have to dedicate entire evenings too the forums. Me and Endus choose to spend a lot of our time on the forums, but you really don't have too. You need to be reasonably active but 8,000 posts is most definitely not required
When I got picked up as a moderator, I had under 500 posts on the site as a whole. My post count isn't what's required, it's just that I usually pop in a few times a day (working from home being convenient for that), and often respond once or twice. That and I've been at this a few years now, and it adds up over time.
