Didn't see him mention, but Bastion was mentioned and that was Darren Korb. That music made an already amazing game so much better. It's probably worth mentioning that some of the music from League of Legends has been really good lately.
But I find it hard to like Jack Wall from Mass Effect. It's good... atmospherically, I never liked it.

<-- That is otterly adorable.
Of those I'd say Hans Zimmer, because he also makes completely awesome movie music and I can't split my own bias on that (New Batmans, Inception etc).I'd like to make a shout out for Micharl McCann as well, the composer of the music in Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I haven't enjoyed the music in a game as much in a long time.
Michael Hoening - Only game related work he has done is Baldur's Gate franchise. And I simply love soundtrack of BG serie.

On the list, Hans Zimmer.
Off the list, Jeff van Dyck(all TW-games except for Empire/Napoleon) how the hell is he not nominated??
Neal Acree for one reason: Nightsong
It's criminal that you don't included Frak Klepacki in the poll!
The guy is responsible for making C&C and the Dune RTS games have the most rockenest soundtracks around. That and he did worked on pretty much every Westwood game from 1990 till they closed shop.
Jesper Kyd.
His music for the Hitman and Assassin's Creed series have been completely fitting to the setting of the game.
EDIT: He's not in the poll?! What the heck man..
Martin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori handsdown. I think I've never felt the same as I did when I played Halo 1
Nobuo uematsu on ff7 did on midi what people struggle to achieve on a full on orchestra.
I think "Kota Hoshino" is the best. His creation was in "Metal wolf chaos" .
Hans Zimmer hans down! He's the best composer full stop outside of gaming, so as soon as he entered the arena so to speak.....
Kenji Ito, responsible for the music in most of the SaGa and Seiken Densetsu series.

edit: Check some of his gameboy works, it's awesome

On the list probably Soule but generally my favorite is Matt Uelmen. Torchlight 2's music is just mindblowing
Akira Yamaoka being last makes me genuinely sad for the state of things. Him being below the guy who did the freaking MW2 soundtrack is completely fucked up.
Chose none of them, Hans Zimmer and Jeremy Soule is on part for me.
