I was that guy in junior highschool. Funnily, when I stopped acting like that in high school, I seemed to get more friends.

I'd say I don't think you're too hard to be friends with, but I think I'm too laid back to make that comment. And I don't think you and I really hang out enough for me to say that, either.

My problem was that I actively tried to avoid being that guy. Luckily I realized that sharing interests with people wasn't a bad thing before I became a complete hipster.

I simply dont care much for opinions of others when it comes to something like intrest. I like what i like and i dont care if the whole word likes it or if the whole world thinks iam stupid / crazy / whatever for liking something.

I have one quote i live after and that is "Because who gives a damn what your friends think? Why waste your time obeying the opinions of others?".
Ofc thats only when it comes to perosnal likings. On other topics its important to me what friends think...but i never waste my time what strangers could think.

I don't think I even have any true friends. Sure, people like me somewhat and I have those two peeps that I always mention, but one is usually hard to deal with and has no respect for the school, while the other is a Pinkie expy, and I hate that.

I don't mind it though. I love solitude.

If you're trying to force yourself to be who you are, you're probably not really who you are. I care, but I don't let it influence my own tastes (Unless they make me think about something differently so I actually begin to genuinely have an interest in it), or automatically think more/less of someone else if they have different tastes to me. I think the thing about being yourself is that it isn't something you naturally have to put an effort into. If you're trying to force yourself to be who you are, you're probably not really who you are. Sometimes not doing anything is hard, though, since you often feel pressured into being something you're not.
