I thought the president wasn't removed from office because the number of those that voted for his impeachment on the referendum wasn't equivalent to 50% of the population of the country or more? Sorry, but if that's the case, if it's in your constitution that it has to exceed 50%, it's your own people's fault for not enough of them voting on the referendum. Don't go around blaming Merkel for everything.

No, the cvorum thing was added at the unofficial request of Merkel. We NEVER had a cvorum requirement for elections before, it was added this year for the 1st time ever because whoever pulled the strings KNEW the romanian people aren't that interested in politics as to show up to vote, so pushing this thing will surely cause the president to remain in power. It was all a setup conducted by the president's servants and with the support of the EU leaders who more or less, told us to leave the president alone or else.
