I want to be launched into space.
Probably waaaay more expensive than buying even a fancy coffin, but nonetheless, I want it.

Its not that it actually makes the dead person more comfortable, or that people believe it really will. its more of a traditional respect for the dead person to give them one last luxury. not to mention make them look very important. its a show for the survivors, not for the dead.
Ah, flashback to that movie with the irish boys that kill bad ppl, cant remember the name of it but its awesome!
I just want a simple coffin, or cremation idk!
All i do know is that i wanna donate my organs when i die, guess my liver is out of the question but anything else is up for grabs.
I don't think I really care how I'm buried or cremated.
I'll be too dead to worry about it.
Putin khuliyo
First, i'm going to be cremated.
Second, my ashes will be shipped to one of those russian synthetic diamond companies.
Third, they will create a diamond out of my ashes.
Fourth, they will have a master swordsmith create a sword fit for a king.
Fifth, the diamond (me) will be put into the pommel of the sword.
Sixth, the sword will become the family heirloom.
Yes, this is all going to happen, and my spirit will live FOREVER in this sword.
Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.
So I chose the path of the Ebon Blade, and not a day passes where i've regretted it.
I am eternal, I am unyielding, I am UNDYING.
I am Zethras, and my blood will be the end of you.

What would make a dead person happy?
Well, I'm sure if the person was still alive, they'd say "Don't waste money on burying me in some fancy way. Donate my organs if you can, get some money and call it a day. Then throw a wicked sweet party"
I want to be frozen to be re-awaken hundreds of years in the future. I want to live in a Jetson's world.
Okay, just saw that "sky or fly" pictures with the vultures, WHY THE FUCK would you want to do that to yourself, how is that even legal

Cremation can be more expensive than a normal burial. The people that do it usually charge pretty steep for the luxury of actually using their crematorium, and urns can be expensive, too, depending on materials.
I'm just gonna donate my body to science if that's still a thing when I kick the bucket. As others have said, I'll be too busy being dead to care about what happens to my body.
I'd roll with either a burial at sea, or a full on pyre! =D
To your first question, I don't know. Nor do I know if it will work.
To second question, simple. The future people will want to get their parents back and their dead friends. Said people will want their parents and their friends. And so on. Until you're reached. Besides that, future scientists will want some people from different ages back to study how they lived, I mean just look today, why are we trying to get mammoths and neantherthals back to life? With mammoths they almost have one. Because we're curious how they lived.
Besides, I presume that if this happens, out future grand-grand-grand-etc-sons/daughters will have moved to other planets, so there will be room.

In a way I understand your point, though do not agree with it. What if it was your family that brought you back?

Different countries have different traditions. There's another place that has the coffins suspended in air on the cliff-side, there's funeral pyres, there's water burials, cremation, freezing, cutting in parts etc.
Saw a really weird documentary for example in some country where burial sites were so little there wasn't room to put people, so they rented graves for 5 years then the remains were taken out, put in a bag and put in a smaller box in a crypt and so on. There's also putting a steak in the heart of dead to make sure they don't come back. This happens in some countries of the EU even, so you can't say it's some far away thing. In other parts, when the old people feel their end is coming they just go into the forest and never come back, to die there and be eaten by wild animals and so on. You'd be surprised how many traditions there are in the world.
people (some) want a big fancy coffin and a big fancy funeral to saturate their need in letting others know how well they had it in their lives, some i guess, realize in their final moments that, heck, that don't mean squat, others, go to the grave with that mentality.
I can't honestly say that I've ever thought about how my funeral would be, cremation, coffin, damn, no idea.
