Now I admit i'm ignorant towards CRZ. Initially I thought it was a PvP thing and only affected in PvP areas BUT is every zone CRZ now? I am confused on what areas are actually CRZ

Only low pop zones(old world) are CRZ, Panderia is not CRZ right now. You can invite realid friends from other realms and they will crz with you, but in general, CRZ doesnt affect Panderia yet.

Just an added note, I've had CRZ in effect while standing in Darnassus. Pretty much everything but the two major faction towns and all of Pandaria are under it. Another thing of note, though, is if you have a friend who's on a PVE server they can invite your PVP toon and pretty much idle while you quest and do whatever without dealing with bored level 90 gankers.
