Has anyone actually mentioned one female scientist so far? Like Lene Hau who was one of the leading people behind slowing light.
Jane Goodall as second and no idea currently as third.

What does it matter? Male/Female scientist... who cares?
I'm sure there are tons of great female scientists. Let's look at their competition though.
We got Michio Kaku... american japanese guy with pretty trademark long silver hair.
Neil DeGrasse Tyson... black dude with the most badass moustache in astronomy.
Stephen Hawking... Most defining feature is definitely his British name.
Who can compete with that?!
Actually there is ONE scientist/mathematician I can think of... Danica McKellar. There's a scientific paper by her.
That's not why I know her though.
This is why I know her.
Danica McKellar.... I would like to marry that women and have genius children.

Well if you define a scientists as someone who has published in peer reviewed journals I nominate... me! .
I know lots of scientists who are famous in my own field but in terms of tv fame (which in all fairness most of them arn't even well published scientists): Brian Coxx, Stephen Hawkings and Paul Nurse.
Also LOL at the person who said physicists arn't scientists
Coxx and Nurse are well published scientists Hawkings wrote popular science books but isn't actually that great a scientist.
i carefully scrolled down with my eyes closed as to not cheat ^_^
erm lets see, stephen hawking
