Holy, HYPPEEEE!
Also, what was that ship that appeared at the end? (of the multicrew demo)
That was the Idris frigate.
So adding in thier normal delay structure end of month means around new years right? Here's the press version of the social module shown at Gamescom that is hopefully coming out at the end of the month...
Yes, they did with the latest Arena Commander release, among others. However, that is comparing apples to oranges; the Arena Commander module's foundation has been laidd and settled, whereas the PU has not. Until the PU's base is finialized/firmly established, the release dates are nothing but hopeful "Here's the absolute earliest it could happen" dates, and CR has been very careful to make that clear.
So fucking hyped by the end of that video, and then they finish the video with a huge Idris just casually flying by above...
That kind of action and sense of scale is in essence the reason why I backed SC.
I'm just glad I sold my backer ships for profit when I realized the scope of the disaster that's looming ahead.
It's funny to see optimistic people about this project still, though.

Uhh, no? At best their timeline was Persistent Universe ALPHA for the end of 2015, but that is looking more likely to get pushed into Q1 2016, Star Marine Alpha is coming along and should launch before year's end to be honest, the progress updates are looking good. I honestly don't expect Persistent Universe to launch an alpha phase until spring of next year and that is still being hopeful. There isn't enough to suggest that it will meet their initial target estimates and with how many issues Star Marine has experienced, it is safe to say that they are going to have to roll back their time line a fair bit.
How is it looking good. Can you honestly look at whats been done and think that it will be released in full before the end of 2017? Instead of focusing on finishing the core gameplay to me every single update it seems that they keep expanding and trying to add more modules. FPS combat ect while the core game, flying in space isnt even finish. All i read is tons of fans upset over the lack of transparency with thier spending of donated funds and how many people are waiting untill in a few months that can start to request refunds from the kickstarter.
It isn't unusual whatsoever for MMO sized games to have a dev cycle of at least 5 years. The scope grew and changed from the original plan, it really is that simple.
I backed the game on kickstarter and I got more out of the Arena Commander than most AAA titles these days. Sounds like you have a huge stick up your ass.
It's more funny to see pessimistic people about this project still, though. It started off people called this game shovelware and saying that Chris Roberts was going to run off with the money. Then they released stuff and update it constantly. They are completely open in their development, and you still have people coming into the thread saying it's doomed to fail. What you seem to be missing is that it has already succeeded.
If they are open why do they have no transparency on how they are spending the money.

should read up on that. It seems to be the same path this game is following.
