Didn't realise there was a wait on respawn times and that you would be able to pay to avoid/reduce them. I honestly cannot see this idea lasting very long.

Yes that is the system explained back in 2012 in the economy video.
Ships. Weapons. Gear all has to be manufatored, takes time, materials etc available into acount.
If theres a lot of piracy and supplies are being stolen a system will produce less and bounty missiona show up amd so on...
Harsh penalties for crashing ships or dying have been talked since the start. See the death of the space man and yh economy videos from 2012.

They allways talked about penalties for crash and dying. You can minimize the penalties at the cost of currency. Every mmo has something of that sort. It's nothing new.

You get a timer that lets you decide when to resurrect before respawning at a graveyard.
That's a bit different from respawning on a station with your ship destroyed, your character "dead", your equipment gone and a 2 hour wait till you get a ship back.
Are we supposed to explore the station? Can we "buy" a replacement ship? Go to the local arcade and playa couple of minigames? Is the intention that we do odd jobs to earn some cash? Or do we just wait around for the timer to expire because the intention is to act as a penalty for dying?
The gameplay mechanics behind this escapes me at the moment. It's "real" but seriously - It's a game and there has to be SOME compromise towards gameplay and making things fun.
So - questions need to be asked about what gameplay CIG expects from this two hour wait. Or is it simply there to encourage people to buy the expedited delivery?

pretty interesting and informative discussion and some Evocati snippets thrown in by Sean Tracy

Okay sorry, but is this game releasing like, soon? Like in the next year or two? Or is it just in development hell with these
"updates"

so when is release date

Nope, I got a refund, remember? CIG can't and has no legal right to keep my refund from me forever. Doesn't matter what they write in their TOS, they can't override European law. My original account is now closed entirely and the refund processed.
Plus, even if I was still in Evocati, I would never leak what is being tested and what is in and what is not. The only reason I shared my experience with performance immediately was because you were praising it as the "patch that was never going to release but was now released". That patch never existed, because the netcode was never in which was part of the original 3.0. And I was sitting there with a literally unplayable experience.
To be clear I don't regret being part of SC. I still am, to some extent, because I have an account with a $25 starter package (both games). I basically did what a lot of others did; immediately started buying the anniversary packs when they were out for gifting. That's why they had to limit the package to new backers after they saw the stats of who was buying it.
Why would they keep you from refunding? The sooner disgruntled backers are out of the project the better for CIG and the community. The less people with multiple ship's out of the game the better for everyone.
You were never part of the evocati and you never will be
I didn't praised nothing. you must be mistaking me with someone else.
And yes 60+ people test did go well in the Evocati. 60 people + 60 ship's btw.
Doesn't matter who buy's packages, it's money in CIG pocket either way.
Thanks for supporting the making of space sims anyway.
