I was pleased to see 3.1 released to live on the last day of Q1 but damn is it unstable, the game stutters along and crashes like nothing else for me. Makes it feel like they rushed it out just to hit the deadline.

And whoever thought insurance/exediating claims during buggy builds was a good idea needs to be relegated to a toilet cleaner for a month.

There was a bug on Port Olisar preventing players from spawning ships except for one player who managed to spawn a reclaimer. He then proceeded to taxi 30-40 players on board the Reclaimer from Port Olisar to Levski.

What was the bug and why could he spawn his? Was it the good old "all platforms are full" thing?

I think the devs were playing around with services on the servers.

Sounds like it ended up being a good test. I wonder how the framerate was for everyone compared to the usual in alpha?

Note to interested parties: Last time I heard in November, SC took 36 GB, might be over 40 GB at this point.

    Here's a direct link.

    https://robertsspaceindustries.com/p...Free-Fly-Event

The current (as of version 3.0.0) minimum requirements are:

    Windows 7 (64bit) with Service Pack 1, Windows 8 (64bit), Windows 10 – Anniversary Update (64bit
DirectX 11 Graphics Card with 2GB RAM (4GB strongly recommended)
    Quad core CPU
    16GB+ RAM
    SSD strongly recommended (mandatory imo)

I like that they are planning a lot of work on optimization this year. Because that is probably the biggest issue with the game currently, if they want to be able to reach out to a larger playerbase. But there are a lot of work left on the game, so I'm still more expecting that either game will be cancelled or launched as a heavily watered down version from what they promised in initial hype.

The game will launch when CIG stop wiping player progress. I imagine that will happen when there's some solid gameloops in place and the community start getting fed up with the progress resets. CIG will continue working on the game after launch and get everything in there eventually.

Don't bother trying the game without an SSD. The difference is night and day.

I've played plenty of large scale games even in pre release and not once has a HDD hindered performance for me.

The more I delve into reading and watching this game the more it looks set to aim big and fail to deliver on it. Which I imagine they will remedy by giving big streamer names and I mean the big ones who pretty much dominate Twitch free keys for promotion.

Because right now on Twitch even at peaks/high time the most I've seen is 3-5k viewers.

SSD's are becoming the standard. It's what Blizzard recommends you have to run all their games now. It takes forever to load an Overwatch map or even load in to WoW without one. Before I upgraded, it took me so long to load in to an instance that I've had party members yell at me and question whether or not I was AFK. Good luck trying to play a game with massive textures like the Banner Saga without one too.

Fuck, missed the free weekend to give it a whirl. Anyone that tried it out, what were your impressions?

Also, are people actually fucking whining about SSD being recommended? O_o

Loading is fine in WoW on an HDD, I don't install any games to my SSD because the benefits are not worth the wear on the drive. My longest load screen in WoW is like a 5 second one for Dalaran... anything else you might miss if you blink.

People that have bad load times in WoW, have them because they're rocking potato CPUs. A standard 7200 rpm mechanical really has no issue loading WoW if your CPU or memory aren't bottle necking it.

Installing anything but the OS on an SSD is really not needed for any game.

Hey I'm not very into Star Citizen, I was interested when it was announced but after the years my interest and my hype faded.

I'm still interested in the game and think it can be awesome but could someone sum up to me the main new features, breakthrough, possibilities and improvements regarding the FPS and minimum requirement to run it ?

    Thanks

You're not a flight simmer then I assume? Believe me, playing DCS World on an HDD compared to an SSD is night and day in difference. I can imagine Star Citizen would be much the same.
