I get that this is in alpha still but I'm hoping this is one of the things they work on before moving to beta. It feels like such a base line issue I'd rather see it be addressed early on than patched later. As far as the rest of the graphics goes, there's still some pop-in issues that are a bit of an issue and sometimes it seems indicators/waypoints will become "stuck" on the screen or completely unresponsive as time goes on. There's still some work to do here in alpha.
The Mobiglass and helmet hud is currently getting a revamp, set for release in 3.6. The inner thoughts system (hold "F") will remain intact as it is one of the core features of the game's tactile atmosphere.

While permanent ship destruction and insurance is one of the key features of the game, for the sake of testing they have not been enabled. As of right now, if you destroy or lose your ship, you can go to any kiosk, claim your ship, and then respawn it at the appropriate hangar.

I do not know if, as I stated, this was because I was in the free pool or if this is what everyone is currently limited to in the alpha but I sincerely hope it opens WAY the hell up before it moves on to beta. There were also very few points of interest on the 3 planets themselves, from what I saw. A few mining spots. Aid stations. Nothing exciting. No caverns to explore or such. Kind of disappointing on that front. The space station itself was also very barebones. A few shops, terminals to call your ship or sell items/ore and a small personal room that seems to serve no purpose except to give you a spot to wake up in whenever you log in. Very underwhelming, even for an alpha and again something I hope that's expanded on a lot before it moves to beta.
CIG has a vault of assets ready and waiting to be implemented - caverns, stations, landing zones, and so forth. Development is currently bottlenecked by the lack of server meshing. Once it's finished, CIG will be able to fill out the existing system with more detail without crashing their servers.

While CIG has the tools to procedurally generate additional star systems, they don't want to reuse assets, ie no Hurston tileset on Terra Prime. If you look at Elite: Dangerous, every station and planet looks the same. The rate at which the art department can create new assets and the environment team can assemble and playtest them will always be a limiting factor.

They really don't. There is a running aesthetic in the game along with an homage to the original games and there is certainly a limited number of assets used for stations/outposts but they are absolutely not all identical https://inara.cz/gallery/4/?page=3
There are a variety of obvious interior/exterior differences between large space stations as well as between space outposts, ground installations/outposts, shipyards etc

The planets are nothing alike unless we're going to call all non-atmospheric spheres identical https://inara.cz/gallery/7/
The planets especially have a huge amount of variety, colouration, size etc which varies dramatically based on a large number of inputs from Stellar Forge.

Greetings, cultists of the star citizen

How are you today? Enjoying playing the game? Oh right, my bad, it's still not out because they keep piling on more and more stuff huh?
This game will be stuck in limbo for eternity, as it makes more money this way, then it ever would being sold normally =/

    You got what now? motorbikes?

I don't have much faith that SC will release anytime in the near future but deliberately coming in to antagonize people is quite low.
Expansion leak claiming Legion is the last expansion

Perhaps, but it isn't quite as bad as being so easily brainwashed and throwing so much money at a game that most likely won't ever come out.
Star Citizen is basically vaporware at this point.

Imagine if blizzard crowdfunded wow and instead of just finishing up vanilla, they decide to add more features and continue to work, adding tbc, wotlk, cata, mop, wod, legion, bfa and 5 more expansions in one go, instead of just releasing the vanilla game, and then working on the expansions in the meantime.

That's kind of what they are doing with star citizen. The game is far more profitable when it's in development limbo, than it is as a finished product. They'll just keep on adding more and more to the game instead of actually releasing it, and people STILL fall for this shit and throw more money at them.

So yes, I WILL come in here and antagonize them.

You coming into this thread to post this is as sad as some random impulse control lacking freak spending thousands of $$$ on a virtual spaceship.

    You must be severely depressed.

It actually makes me think you probably spent way too much on Star Citizen yourself and are resentful at your lack of control, but this is just speculation.

I've luckily never spend a single cent on this game.

I don't think what to make of this, but your words above are obviously coming from emotion. That really leaves three options up for grabs:

    1. You paid for the game and shiny space pixels, and now feel threatened and have taken a 180 in a vague attempt to feel better.
    2. You personally know someone who is invested in the game and you think they made a stupid decision and are projecting.
    3. You are way too invested into what other people do with their money up to the point of feeling actually offended and have the need to insult people who have merely put their money where they want to put it.

Number 3 is probably the worst of it all.

Cheers pal, I'm sure you'll live a long and fulfilling life.

You do understand there is a playable version right? Most systems are in the game it's just limited in the size of space atm.

They stopped adding things awhile ago. In your rush to mock people all you have done is shown yourself to be ignorant.

    • They are giving each thruster on a ship it's own collision box (so you can shoot and disable individual thrusters), which will also integrate into the eventual penetration system (where if you deal enough damage from one side, the damage will go through the hull and start damaging components on the opposite side).
    • They are working on tech that will generate plants on the ground that you can harvest from, such as oranges. Once again, expensive to do because of the sheer number of objects the server has to keep track of.
    • Team is experimenting with materials to use for the Banu Defender ship.
    • Working on Microtech buildings and interiors (Mircrotech is currently slated for 3.8)
    • Decorating the interior of the Origin 890 Jump (slated for 3.6)

Practically, it has uses for science gameplay; traveling to infected regions and diagnosing what has infected/killed the plants themselves, or trying to develop a treatment which requires harvesting plants. It could also tie into the wild life system, ie space bears eating berries as a part of the ecosystem.

890 looks so dope. Too dope actually. I really like the feminine shape we can see of the guy screen (the red greybox).

Imo it wont be ready for end of june.

decided to give star citizen another go (cuz i couldnt play it for shit)

heres my question: do i have access to everything this game has to offer (obviously beside ships i didnt buy) just like u guys or am i restricted from some content, modules even? i bought the very basic plege, ie $50 dollar (or so) mustang pack

im asking cuz all i got is just that port olisar and flying in empty space. tried to do a mission yesterday on post kareah but couldnt even find it and failed it
so where the fuck do i find it?

i dont like space ship fight in this game, its nothing like EVE so i would like to do something on planets surface. ground shooting and even flying my ship there

PS: also do u use SC mobile authenticator? i see last time it was updated was in 2016. im afraid it could do more harm than good

as long as you have a starter ship at the very least you can do whatever is currently available in the game, i still use the authenticator with no issues.

if you use F2 you can bring up a map, you can scroll out and look at other locations in the solar system and set a course, however a starter ship may not have fuel to get to far away places, can ask in chat to jump in with someone else and team up, can take around 10 mins to fly to arccorp which is one of the furthest planets from olisar.

Space combat in this game is only a small part of the game, when the game is more complete you should be able to avoid most combat if you pay attention to any ships coming close and just play the way you want to. There is much effort needed in SC combat compared to other games.

If you bought any package with Star Citizen digital download in it, you can play the game as it is right now.

Which Karreah mission? There are two Karreah missions: the one to kill seven infiltrators inside, and the one to shoot three skimmers around the station.

For the infiltrator mission, just land at one of the platforms, head inside, and clear the station of enemies. Be warned that other players come to Karreah to reset their crime status, so there is a risk of encountering another player who may try to kill you. It's best if you get a set of armor (medium or heavy), a primary weapon (I recommend the P4), and medipens.

The one to shoot the skimmers around the station? You need to scan for the skimmers. Press TAB to bring up the scan. Zoom out the scanner to maximum spread by scrolling the mousewheel down. Charge the scanner with right click. Wait until the circle in the center of your screen makes a full rotation. Release right click. Your scan will initiate. Look around for blue grid boxes. Objects of interest are inside the center of those boxes. Fly to the center of one of them and when you are within 3 km, your skimmer will appear. Blow it up. Scan and go to the other two skimmers. Job done. Be warned that each time you blow up a skimmer, a pirate ship will warp in, so you need to be quick if you want to avoid combat. Example below at 12:48.

Yeah since CIG asked for a bond for the court expenses (normal procedure as Crytek is not a US firm). Crytek doesn't really want to put their money in the bond as the case doesn't go their way.

When is the ruling for this case?
