I will never grow tired of eating popcorn while watching the world's loneliest nerds mindlessly defend this vaporware. They will die mad in 40 years, and Star Citizen will STILL be "in development."

It's far, far worse, NMS was developed by a team of 6, 15 by the time it shipped, wih a much, MUCH smaller budget, and after years of free content, it still stands without microtransactions.

The only real problem it had was Sean Murray talking his ass off about it in every interview prior to release.

On the other hand you have Chris Roberts, also talking his ass off while completely clueless, "microtransactions" that go up to thousands of dollars, impacting gameplay in a still alpha PvP based video game, with now over half a billion dollars in the pocket and a triple A sized team.

The UI system is working great so whatever they are doing is the right decision, you do realise the tools they have made are easy for any dev to use right so very small learning curve to use them properly.

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about, its currently one of the best space games available even in alpha state.

Pouring needlessly money for mediocre system isn't a right decision, its wasting money, yes with enough money you can polish a turd into mirror.

Small learning curve is html/css because every dev knows it, no in house solution will ever have small learning curve. Especially if its suppose to be flexible.

You are just assuming what you think is better when you dont actually know if its better than what CiG are using, we currently dont know how they do it so you are currently unable to make any comments about what is superior or not.

We already know that some of the systems even fresh employees can get straight to work on with the current AI vendor system, so you are unable to say if anything CiG has developed in house is difficult to use for a new dev or not.

That's what I was referring to - Sean went and fixed it instead of promising more.

Because it is all a grift. CR is one of the biggest liars and grifters in gaming.

Still not released? Maybe they should switch to Unreal 5 to speed up the production?

Actually the problem was with the people thinking that everything that Sean was talking about would be in on release. Sean's only mistake was - he thought people were better than this.

Kudos to him for sticking to the game and delivering everything he promised and more.
All right, gentleperchildren, let's review. The year is 2022 - that's two-zero-two-two, as in the 21st Century's perfect vision - and I am sorry to say the world has become a pussy-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of double-masked tripple-jabbed sissies who stand with Ukraine.

Lol, now that’s a lame ass excuse if I ever seen one.

Don’t get me wrong, big kudos indeed for fixing all that mess and much more, in that sense, I wish we had more like him. However, that’s just utter bullshit. The problem is not that he thought that people were better than this, the problem is that he thought they were bloody telepaths or something, the interviews were made before NMS release, they were about the fucking release, not about what the game would be like 5 fucking years later… if X feature is not planned, or planned much later after release, you just fucking specify it.

Truth is the guy was just a nervous ass video game nerd, that bite more than he could chew, got thrown under a big ass spotlight and without any PR experience, the poor mofo was bombarded endlessly with questions, and as result, intentionally or not, he lied about it.

This sounds like a excellent justification to delay the game a couple more decades, maybe till UE 6 hits.

They have developed thier own tool called building blocks that allows any team to develop any UI they want without having another team handle the work, there is a reason companies build thier own tools because tools you think might be useful might not work at all and the company has full control over thier tool, so in a game like star citizen the tool you suggest is most likely useless and not suitable at all for the purpose the company requires.

Wow, is this game still "in development"? How long is it now? 10 years?
success comes in the form of technical solutions to problems, not appeals to our emotional side

Reason why companies develop their own tools may be only two, most common: they dont want to pay for ready solution
or less common: there isn't anything like that on the market.

There is absolutely no way there isn't anything like UI dev kit on the market (there are plenty) and I could find at least dozen that could fully work for them.

Not to mention their solution isn't even remotely close to "enterprise grade" ones, let alone HTML and CSS which is simply unquestionable king and league on its own.

It doesn't even has VR support, space game without VR? Racing sims, flying sims, space... sims, are the shit on VR. Next gen title, doesn't support shit PS4 had.
My nickname is "LDEV", not "idev". (both font clarification and ez bait)

They started making thier own tool at least a similar time or before the tool you seem to think is better even started development, why would a company even want to use an outside tool when the tool they have made does what they want it too and a hell of alot more and works far better than the tool that just does UI stuff.

You dont have any idea on how thier tool works ingame so dont talk about things you clearly dont understand, you dont know whats better for the game than all the devs currently working on it.

Your suggestion is clearly not better for the game.

Noone really cares about VR, VR is for such a small niche it doesnt even matter, it will come eventually but there is virtually noone making any noise about not having it for release, VR is not really interesting at all. VR is not really as popular as you think it is and it wasnt even all that interesting in ED, its nice for a while but that soon fades.

Noone really cares about VR- Yeah okay, no one.
VR is for such a small niche it doesnt even matter- Guess that is more than no one now.
It will come eventually- Why would it if no one cares about it?
VR is not really interesting at all- Sure okay, that is why no one cares about it I guess.
VR is not really as popular as you think it is- No one cares about it, but those that do care, it totally isn't a popular thing so why bother?

Man just in a few lines you can see how an opinion spins to supposed facts. But hey no one cares about VR.

Yes because the devs working on the game know what is best, that is why the game is smoothly progressing and has not been in limbo for years and years.
