I will never grow tired of eating popcorn while watching the world's loneliest nerds mindlessly defend this vaporware. They will die mad in 40 years, and Star Citizen will STILL be "in development."

Its like the No Man Sky except instead of fixing the game, the dev just kept promising more and more while doing nothing.

It's far, far worse, NMS was developed by a team of 6, 15 by the time it shipped, wih a much, MUCH smaller budget, and after years of free content, it still stands without microtransactions.

The only real problem it had was Sean Murray talking his ass off about it in every interview prior to release.

On the other hand you have Chris Roberts, also talking his ass off while completely clueless, "microtransactions" that go up to thousands of dollars, impacting gameplay in a still alpha PvP based video game, with now over half a billion dollars in the pocket and a triple A sized team.

Actually there is a huge chance its terrible decision, good luck finding devs for in house solutions and making them learn.

The UI system is working great so whatever they are doing is the right decision, you do realise the tools they have made are easy for any dev to use right so very small learning curve to use them properly.

With Star Citizen - the game is just bad.

It is just a never-ending cycle of just alphabet cereal, excuses and other stuff on why it can't be completed while at the same time promising the world and continuing to do so.

The UI system is working great so whatever they are doing is the right decision, you do realise the tools they have made are easy for any dev to use right so very small learning curve to use them properly.

Pouring needlessly money for mediocre system isn't a right decision, its wasting money, yes with enough money you can polish a turd into mirror.

Small learning curve is html/css because every dev knows it, no in house solution will ever have small learning curve. Especially if its suppose to be flexible.

You are just assuming what you think is better when you dont actually know if its better than what CiG are using, we currently dont know how they do it so you are currently unable to make any comments about what is superior or not.

Actually the problem was with the people thinking that everything that Sean was talking about would be in on release. Sean's only mistake was - he thought people were better than this.

Kudos to him for sticking to the game and delivering everything he promised and more.

Lol, now that’s a lame ass excuse if I ever seen one.

Don’t get me wrong, big kudos indeed for fixing all that mess and much more, in that sense, I wish we had more like him. However, that’s just utter bullshit. The problem is not that he thought that people were better than this, the problem is that he thought they were bloody telepaths or something, the interviews were made before NMS release, they were about the fucking release, not about what the game would be like 5 fucking years later… if X feature is not planned, or planned much later after release, you just fucking specify it.

Truth is the guy was just a nervous ass video game nerd, that bite more than he could chew, got thrown under a big ass spotlight and without any PR experience, the poor mofo was bombarded endlessly with questions, and as result, intentionally or not, he lied about it.

This sounds like a excellent justification to delay the game a couple more decades, maybe till UE 6 hits.

They have developed thier own tool called building blocks that allows any team to develop any UI they want without having another team handle the work, there is a reason companies build thier own tools because tools you think might be useful might not work at all and the company has full control over thier tool, so in a game like star citizen the tool you suggest is most likely useless and not suitable at all for the purpose the company requires.

Noone really cares about VR, VR is for such a small niche it doesnt even matter, it will come eventually but there is virtually noone making any noise about not having it for release, VR is not really interesting at all. VR is not really as popular as you think it is and it wasnt even all that interesting in ED, its nice for a while but that soon fades.

Yes because the devs working on the game know what is best, that is why the game is smoothly progressing and has not been in limbo for years and years.
