Talking Fuzzzie's 1.7.x Mod List Minecraft

All images and headers courtesy of Greevir

Fuzzzie's Modded Minecraft Thread is a collection of mods for Minecraft. The list is kept up to date frequently and contains many of the most popular mods in the Minecraft community. This list is maintained by Fuzzzie with the help of his friends. Please see below the list for install instructions as well as config downloads that will help. If you have any questions about the mods or their installation please feel free to post and we'll try to help.

    Before we get started...

    • Always backup your world folder as well as your mods and config folder. Do this every time you update!
    • It's impossible to test every version of every mod. Some things may not always work right.
    • Please report bugs to the appropriate place. If a mod is bugged then telling the mod author is probably better than telling me.
    • If you wish to see something added, let us know!

If you're interested in learning how to set up Profiles properly with 1.6.4 and beyond then check out Greevir's video guide.

    Credits and Thanks

It's important to give credit where it is due. I maintain the mod list, but I have a lot of help. These four people have invested a lot of time and effort to help maintain the thread.

Greevir - Has done all the graphics you see in the thread and has been supportive of my efforts since the beginning. He also has provided many great tutorials.
laguy442 - Maintained the config pack and helps our readers with their tech support concerns.
skedone - Hosted the config pack and any files I needed him to. Also always willing to help
BevoLJ - For his weekly series about modded Minecraft and its ups and downs as well as introducing us all to new mods!
OldFarmerJoe - Created two amazing python and pearl scripts to help users with this list. Details below:

    • Minecraft ID Reporter - Scans all of your configs and reports on ID conflicts
    • Modlist Compare Script - Scans your currently installed mods and compares them against this list informing you of what needs to be updated!

I have retired! The list can now be found and maintained here: http://modupdates.com/

It's run by @rckymtnrfc Huge thank you to his efforts!

Mods with have an additional requirement and you can check the last table for links to those mods.

Minecraft Forge should be installed via the installer as linked below. It no longer goes in the Minecraft JAR. You should no longer modify the Minecraft JAR in any way. You do not need to delete the META-INF folder from the Minecraft JAR anymore.

Currently there are several options available to you should you wish to have a simple way of installing mods for Minecraft. The mods are installed and set up for you without much work on your end. On the one hand this makes things simple. On the other hand you're leaving your updates up to the mod pack authors and you may not have the most up to date content.

Below is a list of modpacks that have proven to be successful, update often, are fair and offer a unique experience. This section is currently in development. Please be patient as I decide how I want this section to work. Version numbers will be checked randomly, possibly every 1-2 weeks and not necessarily when the list updates.

These are early adopters of my patreon campaign. The full roll-out of the campaign is still in the works. If you follow me on twitter then you will get the full scoop! A huge thank you to anyone who offers support to the work I do. I really do appreciate it and it's awesome to see when people think it's worth their attention!

Some mods you may wish to use may not be compatible with Forge. It's possible that installing these mods with Forge will cause crashes that cannot be fixed. When choosing to use Forge, be aware of this fact. More and more mods are making the jump to use Forge, but there are some that don't. Installing these mods is beyond the scope of this list as their individual installation instructions may vary. All mods listed above are Forge compatible and they all require it to be installed.

    Damn fine post.

One question though, do you have any experience running your modlist as an "opened to LAN" style multiplayer game, and if so, how well do they run? The main reason I have stayed faithful to the Tekkit builds is their easy config on a server environment, however I would like to start modding my vanilla install to play some other stuff with a friend over a local network, with a view to finally getting a list of acceptable mods for our soon-to-be-custom private server.

I haven't had any experience running with LAN no. You shouldn't have a problem though. As far as I know all these mods work for SMP as well. The main advantage to using mods from this list is they're all updated for 1.3.2 where as Tekkit is still using the old Minecraft version. The mods have had significant upgrades since then including many new machines and functionality.

I will also be updating the list periodically, maybe once a week, as new versions come out and more mods are finished. Right now a new Computercraft version is being tested along with a new Railcraft version. Once they're released I'll update the list. I included the official websites and threads where the releases are made available so you can update things on your own if you wish.

    ---------- Post added 2012-10-15 at 06:44 PM ----------

Just a few examples of mods I'm watching for updates now.

Forge build #311 was published yesterday. Haven't tried it out yet. Forge is being constantly updated daily. New changes probably aren't necessary for most people. If you want to try it or any future builds you can look here.

EtrabiomesXL and IronChest 2 both got updates in the last 48 hours too. They're tied to the forge development site and can be forund in the root of the link above.

Computercraft 1.45pr2 is also being tested. it introduces advanced computers. You'll need an account but you can try it out at http://www.computercraft.info/forums...-pr2-download/

Just examples of where I'm giving you all easy access and installation help for the most cutting edge mods.

This is exactly why we want our own set of mods to be honest. I use a pretty slick host that allows for 1 click install of most of the latest Bukkit plugins without the need to manually configure stuff or FTP files.... but they obviously only support latest Minecraft build, which is no use to our poor Tekkit server.

We were actually thinking of holding off until 1.4 as we still have a few little projects going on in our Tekkit world that we would like to finish up before we re-start (HV Solar Array factory, etc). I seem to remember reading somewhere that they wouldn't release 1.4 until mod and texture pack support was fully implemented, so hopefully the big jump from 1.2.5 to 1.4 will breath some considerable new life into MC for us.

Forge, ExtraBiomesXL. IronChests2 have all new builds today. Lot's of work being done. Haven't tested any of them yet but if you want to try them click here.

But I have a question, I already installed some mods , I have some experience , but that were simple things like TMI singleplayercommands and never a lot of mods at the same time. I play tekkit but that's just a launcher. you wrote this :

"Some of these mods require that you modify the config files to solve blockID conflicts. I will provide you with a copy of my config folder that you can use if you want to avoid that. If not, I'll provide a brief description on how to change them yourself."

I never did anything with config files so I don't really understand how to solve your minecraft crashing cause of blockID conflicts (I assume you mean that (example) copper of a certain mod with blockID 200 will conflict with copper of an other mod with an other blockID ? ) so I don't know how to do anything with changing those config files or something ? I can use that file you gave but shouldn't it be otherwise if I use other mods? or not? the config folder you made , could it be that if I use other mods it would be a diffrent config folder casue of other mods?

    I hope you'll explain.

I'll give you an example so that I can show you Note that I intentionally caused this failure and your BlockID's may vary.

When you get a blockID conflict in Minecraft, you'll get a screen something like this:

Most of that info is irrelevant to a BlockID issue. If you scroll down to the very bottom you'll get a little message like this:

This is what you're looking for. Specifically :

    Code:
Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Slot 1200 is already occupied by dan200.computer.shared.BlockComputer@491275e8 when adding codechicken.enderstorage.BlockEnderChest@5afaf7d2
This is telling me that when Minecraft was trying to boot up, slot 1200 is in use by computercraft when trying to add a block from EnderStorrage.

I can resolve this conflict by simply changing the blockID 1200 in either the EnderStorage config files or the ComputerCraft config files.

Let's open up the computercraft config files. Navigate to c:\users\<username>\appdata\Roaming\.minecraft\config

You'll see a list of various config files that have been generated by the mods. Here's what mine currently looks like:

Lets resolve this conflict by changing the BlockID for computercraft. I open the config file for computercraft in notepad and see something like this:

Note that you can see where Computercraft assigns it's two blockID's right now I can see the conflict block set to 1200. I'm going to then change the blockID to something else. Since I caused this problem myself, I'm going to change it back to 1205 like I had previously set it.

Now I CTRL-S to save and close it out and try again. Horray it worked!

Note that all config files do not look like this. This is a really clean example of a config file for demonstration purposes. Each mod may use a different format and you may have to hunt around the config file to find what you're looking for. Worst offender is PortalGun's config files :P

With all that said, when you first install mods they generate BlockID's usually in the 208 area. A common conflict is actually with blockID 208. To resolve these, follow the steps above and simply give it a BlockID that is not in use. I typically start at 1200 and then go 1201, 1202, 1203... and so on for each blockID conflict I encounter. That almost always fixes the problem.

My best advice is when installing mods is to install them one at a time.

Install a mod, load the game. If you get to the main menu then you're good, exit and install the next one. If the game crashes with a blockID conflict then at least you know what you're looking for. Dropping 30 mods into the folder at once will cause many, many conflicts that you'll then have to figure out how to resolve one at a time. If done using the method I described, you'll actually eliminate more potential conflicts as you'll have already changed many of the conflicting ID's when resolving previous conflicts. I think the last time I installed these mods I only had to fix 6.

To answer the last part of your question, if you're going to use my config files, not that they are only good for the mods I've described. You can certainly try adding them to your config folder and checking if they work, but when installing a big package like this, it's best to do a clean install. With the examples I've given you, you should be able to resolve most conflicts on your own when starting from scratch.

Also, if you're using tekkit then you're probably still using minecraft version 1.2.5 and all these mods are for minecraft 1.3.2. So there's that.

    ---------- Post added 2012-10-21 at 05:16 PM ----------

Also for an update to the thread. Added AdvancedMachines 4.2c for IC2 to the main post. No need for a new config file as adding it didn't cause any issues.

thank you very much, I get the config files now
I already installed the jar-mods and the chickencore and NEI and after a while I got it right so it would work , I already installed forestry and extrabiomesXL and that all worked out well
That about 1.2.5 is no problem cause for tekkit I use the launcher as you know and that has nothing to do with my minecraft launcher that is on 1.3.2 (I play also regular MC sometimes)

I think I'll be able to edit config files now , ty for that

You're welcome. If you have any other issues, post and I'll try to help.

Also, more updates for the thread

Minecraft 1.4 is out any day now. I'm not sure what direction it's going to take or how long it will take to get mods updated even more. Some mods aren't even ready for 1.3.2 yet so It's kinda an awkward time. If mods continue to be updated and released for 1.3.2 then I'll continue to update the thread accordingly. If the 1.3.2 development stops then I'll probably freeze updates for this patch and then work on another 1.4x thread.

The latest updates for Logistics pipes on the Jenkins server are not working. Causes crashes when I tested. Hold off on upgrading your version. There is some issues with logistics pipes and buildcraft machines. It's being worked on regularly, so I'll keep an eye out for an update that works.

Computercraft version 1.45 is out!! Colour Terminals!! I haven't tested it just yet, but I will probably do so today. In the mean time here is the link to find it.
    http://www.computercraft.info/

Going to do a search for all the mods today to try and find more information about 1.4x and see what things look like for that. If I find any more updates I'll let you know.

    Cheers!

I can't see what the problem here is, I installed the java-file of buildcraft (dragged it into the mods folder) and it gave this , I tried to see or it's a block ID conflict , but I can't see it. I did change all the blockID's for every item in buildcraft but then it gave this error (above) it is the "caused by" part of the error.

other mods installed: forge, optifine, codechickencore mod, NEI , forestry, extrabiomesXL , with this mods it was working fine, it's just when I add buildcraft to it?
maybe you understand the error , cause I don't see what the problem is .

looks like an issue with ExtraBiomesXL loading.

    Code:
     ExtrabiomesXL [ExtrabiomesXL] (ExtrabiomesXL-universal-3.1.0.d.102 (1).jar) Unloaded->Constructed->Pre-initialized->Errored
try replacing the mod with this:

    http://files.minecraftforge.net/Extr....1.0.e.115.jar

It's the latest working build. Might fix the problem for you.

If that doesn't work, try the latest release build:

    http://files.minecraftforge.net/Extr....1.0.c.100.jar

It's basically incompatible with something else that's running. Trying different versions may work.

    ExtrabiomesXL [ExtrabiomesXL] (ExtrabiomesXL-universal-3.1.0.e.115 (1).jar) Unloaded->Constructed->Pre-initialized->Errored
that happend with the 3.1.0 .e.115.jar like you can see in the error
and with the second link you gave me it was the same error but with the 3.1.0.e.110 .jar of course , but it's weird that extrabiomesXL is the problem cause that mod works , only when I add buildcraft it goes wrong

I just installed IC 2 and that seems to work , I have no error now I used one of the extrabiomesXL mod you linked the 115.jar
but the buildcraft doesn't work sadly

Which version of Forge are you using?

Of course I don't know it for sure but I changed all the block ID's off extrabiomesXL mod and it crashed cause off a block ID conflict with IC2.
That was normal and in the error report , it said that there was an ID conflict , so I changed the block ID conflicts there were and I run MC --> There is an error again , the same error I had with installing buildcraft . So I look at the problem and it didn't said it was a block ID conflict, just like I had with buildcraft --> so I change all the block ID's of extrabiomesXL mod to default and it works again --> So I think that the error with buildcraft is also something about block ID's , the error report just doesn't tell you. I could be totally wrong but I looked at the config file of buildcraft and the config file of extrabiomesXL and there were +-20 conflict with the block ID's 150 - 170
I solved the conflict and gave it all an other block ID BUT I still get an error of extrabiomesXL ??????? what I don't understand is

Caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: value is absent (that's a part of the error I get)

version of forge = Minecraft Forge v4.2.5.305 (I think , cause I downloaded the version you linked in your begin of your thread

    Hrmm.

It's some sort of bug with different versions of different things I think. I'll be honest I'm not 100% sure. I have had similar errors when installing mods. Here's what you can try, but you're not gonna like it

Start again. This time, install the mods you're having trouble with first. When I has having issues with forestry and enderstorage I did this and they ended up working together. I'm not 100% why or if it's true, but install order may play a part.

    Make sure you:

    0. Backup everything (zip the whole \.minecraft folder so you dont have to reinstall everything again).
    1. Install Forge First. Run The game
    2. Install Optifine Next. Run The game.
    3. Install the coremods (codechickencore and NEI). Run the game
    4. Install ExtraBiomesXL. Run the game.
    5. If it works up to that point try installing Buildcraft on top of that. Run The game.

If that works then you can start adding mods one by one, starting the game after each one to deal with item conflicts. Minecraft can be finicky when installing this many mods so my best advice is to do it one by one and try to eliminate the problem that way.

Buildcraft also hasn't been updated in some time, it might be falling behind as far as being up-to-date with forge and such so there's that.

    Another Thread Update!

Railcraft vesion 6.5.0.0 is out! Introduces Boilers, steam power and industrial steam engines!
    Download Here!
    Website Here!

Main Thread has been updated to include that, Advanced Machines and Computercraft version 1.45. Mystcraft should be available in the next day or two as well

That did not work , but I tried a lot of things and now I think it's working :P 25 mods installed , I fixed all the block ID's and I just did not install extrabiomesXL . but at the end I tried looking for another mod that gives extra biomes and after a while I came to the same mod, BUT in a winrar -file , and after solving the block ID conflicts it worked so in place of extrabiomesXL in the java-file I found it in a winrar-file(maybe edited by someone, but that turned out good for me ) and that works : I got
    Forestry
    portal gun
    buildcraft
    IC2
    advanced machines
    REI's minimap
    inventory tweaks
    NEI
    railcraft
    optifine
    (forge and chicken core)
    and extrabiomes
    --> foxcheat.com/extrabiomes-xl-1-3-2-mod-minecraft-1-3-2/

and thanks a lot for your help , cause of your help about mods and config files I now got a lot of good mods on my MC

PS : there might is a problem with some of your links , one of them is logistic pipes I think, and IC2 compact solars (for me those links do not work) just to let you know

Glad I could help! Stay tuned for more mods and infromation! Like this:

Fixed the link for Logistics Pipes. The download link for compact solars seems to be borked though. I'll look for another link somewhere.

Mystcraft version 0.9.3.00 is finally out!!

The mod now goes in your mods folder as opposed to the JAR file! Finally!

    Download - Website

Haven't quite added it yet. I'll update the config files if I have to.
