Has Blizzard ever fully explained why they are bat-shit insane when it comes to their fetish for EXTREMELY useless cooldowns on vanity items?

For instance

Mr.Smites Compass? 10 Minute use - 2 hour cooldown

Totem of Harmony? 1 min use - 1 hour cooldown.

Jin Warmkegs Brew? about a 4-5 min use - 1 hour cooldown

It just seems really odd

So people don't spam them I guess. I agree that some of the CDs are a little over the top on some items.

Costume ones should have a cd the length of the costume imo

My only guess is, they don't want people spamming them and annoying other players. I know most of them are harmless, but something like the toy train set needs that 30 minute cooldown due to the annoyance factor.

tbh i hate them they say its so we dont use them all the time and never see our actual characters but i dont think thats a good excuse.

my hope is to get enough transphormy objects that i really like so i can always have one on lol

It would be nice to be able to use the blood elf orb every 10 minutes, Instead of 30

i agree with you, is kind of annoying to have some items with such a low time for the effect and a long CD..., like all the Arqueology fun items
