    Computer illiterates giving advice.

    http://nakedsecurity.sophos.com/2012...-java-browser/

Why do people like this exist.

My favorite part was him not knowing the difference between Java and Javascript

I didn't read the entire thing, but it's clear the author is talking about Java, not Javascript. What's your point? Why does this make him stupid?

The only computer illiterate in this thread appears to be the OP

The article is about Java applets, not ECMAScript.

Do you? Java applets is currently the #1 attack vector on home computers because of Oracle's piss-poor patching. Most of the internet works fine with whole Java plugin disabled, which is totally different from JavaScript or ECMAScript or the so-called Web 2.0
Never going to log into this garbage forum again as long as calling obvious troll obvious troll is the easiest way to get banned.
    Trolling should be.

My favorite part is you thinking this has anything to do with JavaScript.

In any case, the article is technically and factually correct. Also you should follow his advice and disable Java in your browser.

Hmm, I actually had to re-read the article to see if I'd missed anything. It seems perfectly correct which makes this a very awkward thread xD

Oh I thought this was a story thread.

Like when I told a friend I was going to build my own comp and he told me to be careful to not get a PSU that's too powerful so it doesn't overload my components

Sorry, I don't really see a discussion that can be had here. Closing.
