    guild websites and their usage

    hey guys

OK so...... i was recently given guild leadership of my guild and I am wondering, whats the point of a guild website. I mean me and the guildies we communicate very often within guild and have raid dates given out daily on whats going on for current and future ops.

I personally out of all the guids ive been in between WoW ans swtor RARELY used a guild site so not really sure if I want to start a new site for my guild, but if it gets me more people ( i LOVE killing ops on my manndo) i guess i can handle starting one up.

so whats the idea behind the website thing thoughts ?

A guild website is mostly only useful if the guild is huge in numbers and hard to keep track of.

In the old school ways thats how you recruit people. Was entirely different mined set of gaming back then.

You build a community around your guild, have irl party events try to lan etc try to met and have fun talk about raids and so on

There isn't much point to guild websites aside from a way to communicate information about various things. My guild has one just because most of use play a lot of different games so it makes it easier to coordinate events in the different games and stuff. Also if you have people in your guild who like to theorycraft a website can be a good place for people to jointly do that.

It's good if it's got a calendar for raid sign ups or just to have fun discussions or to advertise for new members.
