Great now we can move from the last place of AoE ranking to the one before the last.

Was that really hotfixed? All i'm reading is that this change is on PTRs, and not live yet.

Also - that's the second buff to Mind Sear after the hotfix on October 12th... Makes me wonder why they even nerfed it in during Beta.

Because they wanted every other class to AoE by spamming one button but

    yeah.... that's a 5.1 change, not a hotfix.

Still like the third or fourth time they buffed Mind Sear since Beta. Now THAT is pretty damn hilarious.

Yeah this is a 5.1 change.
What you cant forget tho, is that in 5.1 ms was buffd 25% from the get go, and now 22% extra.
On live it is (204+19,5% sp) on ptr, it is now (314+30% sp) so after 5,1 it looks like we will be able to do some usefull AOE after all.

Refference to the early buff in 5.1

On live it's 257+24.5%sp. The first 5.1 "change" was just a tooltip fix for the hotfix that happened on October 12th.

Are you absolutly sure about that?
Got any links about it or somthing?

Becouse as far as i know, the 25% buff is still ptr aswell.

...yeah, link to a site and show its live tooltip. That'll convince people that 5.1 is changing the tooltip and not the spell.

Under October 16 hotfixes: Mind Sear now deals 25% more damage.

Regardless, this change is dumb. If they want us to not just spam Mind Sear, then they have to change the mechanics of Mind Sear, not just buff it. As it is, there's just a binary switch at a certain number of targets for when we'll dot and for when we'll sear.

Just to be clear, the +25% damage to mindseer has been in place for several weeks now... is this an additional buff??

I am curious - this change means we should probably adjust when we decide to seer vs multidot, right? I haven't mathed it out yet, but I have been seering at 6 or more targets and dotting at 5 or less. Even after the change, it feels like I can do a good bit more damage multidotting 5 targets than mindseering them (if the targets have enough HP for dots to be effective).

If those ~5 targets need ASAP damage (like right after the shield on Feng), mindseer seems better since it has no ramp-up time like multi-dotting does.

    It is.

On Live: Tooltip shows x+19,5% sp, but MS does y+24,5% sp.
On PTR: Tooltip shows what it does - z+30% sp.

Iirc the tooltip was never updated on live after the last fix for it.

@Ghostcrawler mind seer note for 1.5, tooltip fix or another buff? I thought it was said somewhere it was a tooltip fix but not sure.

    Greg Street ‏@Ghostcrawler
@Arlee82 I don't believe we buffed it a second time. Probably just tooltip.

Comparing my live priest to PTR:
    Live - 20,8k spellpower - 6,3k hits
    PTR - 17,7k spellpower - 6,7k hits

So not a tooltip change. The tooltip change was already in the first PTR build.

    This is much appreciated

I guess GC is confused then because he said that today.

That would say much about how much GC cares about shadow priests.

Crossing my fingers for a Shadow AoE overhaul. And maybe some meaningful single target love but apparently we don't need it.
