Xbox 360 question

Think posting in right spot.

Having an issue hooked the 360 up 360 to tv via HDMI then 360 to receiver via Optical cable for surround sound. When i run the system i am getting sound from the TV speakers and surround sound speakers though.

My PS3 doesn't seem to have this issue, and google doesn't have any information about it, and xbox support wasn't very helpful.

Had something similar happen with my PS3 at one point, had to go into the PS3's sound options menu and play with the settings. Been awhile since I've used an xbox but perhaps it has a similar menu with similar settings?

been checkign doesn't seem to have any settings like that.
