Boss Casting Bar Addon

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a good addon that displays a big, clear casting bar for Boss abilities. I'm aware it is possible to do this with Quartz and change the size of the target or focus cast bars but I'm hoping there's something which will work even when I don't have the boss as target or focus.

The bars in those links (when the bosses cast Exhale and Sulfuras Smash) are nice and clear with shield around the spell icons. Anyone know what it is and whether it works without targets or focus?

Quartz got an enemy cast bar option that's disabled by default, works just like you asks for. Though it shows cast bars for pretty much every add alive, so the list of current casts could get a bit long but it works very well for many fights. Been using it as a healer quite a bit lately.

Thank you for the tip but I'm afraid that would get a bit too cluttered. I just want to see when important boss abilities begin and end.

I guess I've found the answer to my own question. The addon used in the video is Castbars - http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/castbars and from what I can see, it is either the target or focus castbar. Anyway, I wonder what this does that Quartz doesn't... and vice versa.

That is indeed Quartz. Just disable everything you don't want.

Try Gnosis? I think you can set up cast bars for your boss frames (boss1, boss3, boss3 etc) similar to arena1, arena2 and so on.

Even better, you can whitelist/blacklist specific spells. So if you are only after X specific spells you can limit the extra bars to only display those specific spells.

^Thanks, I'll give this a shot. I tried using focus cast bar with Quartz and CastBars and both worked pretty well but I jumped into BWD to help some people out and Nefarian was awfully spammy with his Shadowflame Barrage
