Wink New Garalon strats post hot-fix?

    http://blue.mmo-champion.com/topic/2...normal-heroic/

We will no longer be able to double dip into the dmg buff and copy it into the body through the leg with the incrased dmg via weak points through the use of cleaves which makes keeping one leg to cleave through no longer viable.

    our comp :

    Guardian tank
    Warr tank

    Monk heals
    Disc heals
    Druid heals

    Fire mage (myself)
    BM hunter
    Aff lock
    Frost DK
    Ret

Warr tank can continue to soak swipes with the Guardian or get behind the boss and dps, leaving our monk healer to soak(?)

Kiters will most probably be the guardian, 2 healers and most likely the BM hunter, leaving melee on legs (when up) and behind the boss otherwise and myself + the lock in center on the body (with the bm when he isn't out kiting)

Any other tips/suggestions for our comp? (remember, come hot-fix we will no longer be able to double dip and copy the buffed dmg through the leg into the body via cleaves)

    Thanks in advance!

It is still viable it only gives you 300% dmg (about) increase as a rouge instead of 400%.

Your strat shouldn't change at all unless you were class stacking cleave classes.

Is it still worth to keep one leg up to cleave through or just to keep them all dead and dps the body?

All ways kill the legs, when inside the circle you do extra dmg to them and when a leg dies it takes the same health off the boss body (3% of body health taken off for each leg death and each leg has ~3% of boss body health).

One of your healers go DPS
Your Warrior tank goes DPS (still soaks)

You have 1 mage that was effected...

Technically keeping the leg is still a good idea, it is just that the number of viable people to hit is has gone up. For example double dotting or bf'ing while inside the leg circle is potentially higher dps than just having a melee single target the leg down and therefore is a raid dps gain. You still have a finite amount of leg damage you can do with the 200% bonus.

Now instead of using the 200% bonus on the boss to increase raid dps, you will want to increase raid dps by choosing the most efficient way to kill the legs (one of which will still be cleaves).

Hunter should be SV, unless you dont care about leg damage and want to keep 1 up the bm hunter have nothing to do in that raid comp. while sv pets wont get the +dmg of the legs either they wont hinder your hunter dps by 45%.

I don't see why you would want a hunter on the leg anyway... Afaik moving is still a dps loss right now. And even if he did need to swap, its not like he has to pull his pet off. Legs have a fixed amount of hp and spawn on a timer so the more a certain player does to the legs, the less everyone else can do. There is nothing wrong about using a spec/class that sucks on legs so long as you have enough people with specs/classes good for it to keep them down. He just simply shouldn't be putting his pet on the legs as it doesn't get the bonus.

Was thinking about having the BM in the kite rotation and keep him on the body the rest of the time when he isn't kiting.

Why don't you try 2 healing this? It's not healing intensive as long as you do all the mechanics correctly

Median HPS for kills in 10m normal is about 190k. That's pretty healing intensive unless you have strong off-healers.

That's because people are still learning to not be stupid with accidental crushes/pheromone passing. It's really not too much damage once people get their stuff down.

I may try it but we were really doing the fight all wrong the first week. Had two BM hunters (when one is bad enough) because our ret dc'd and we needed a last minute replacement (which also left us with only ONE melee for the encounter and they're amazing on this fight) Also, we had 3 dps and only 1 healer kiting pheremones which is why we kept hitting enrage at 20%. Simply can't lose that much dps so I'm looking at possibly having our BM, 2 healers and a tank kiting.. Also, we had both our warr and guardian tank just sit there and pretty much do nothing where this week I will have my warr go dps and just cleave a front leg when it's up and dps the body.

we've been doing it without any extra crushes and having our healers still having people die just by pheromone ticks, and we never had any issues with healing at all before this fight so it's by far the most healing intense fight out there, up untill that point.
