Saved game slots, other data you might store (Netflix I believe installs the movies to your drive, plays it, than deletes it after your que is done instead of the literal definition of streaming.)

That general idea is there though, 4Gb is not enough for much of anything other than paying $150 for just a social networking and communication box.
You def need a larger enough HDD to play BF3 w/ the High Res textures. Idk about the dlc, 4gb might work for the dlc but def not the High res textures.

Wouldnt a 500 or even 750 gb model with RGH be about as much as the 250 gig?

Microsoft currently makes 3 base models 4gb 250gb and 320gb. Next you get 250gb speciality models i.e kinect or the racing setup. I'd also not even remotely mess with tampered 360's unless you never want to go online. Let's leave out the Reset Glitch Hack, which btw is traceable and just like Jtag will get busted then a $200-$300 banned console. Sorry lets keep this above black market.

Edit: Swapping the HDD for a larger one is not hard or a bad idea. I'd think about an SSD imho.

Why not get the new 500GB Super Slim PS3? A tiny bit more expensive but you dont have to pay anyone to enable internet gaming or the web browser like on Xbox 360.

PS3 will work out the box for always while you need to subscribe to Xbox LIVE just to enable 2/3 of the included features in the console, which are free to use for anyone right upto your router. Basically $60 a year to turn on the ethernet hole on on the box.

This is a good debate except ps3 has proven Xbox live to be superior.

ps3 - You still pay for content on Ps3 i.e DLC map packs and so on (security is severely limited)

Xbox 360 - You pay monthly but the security is much higher for personal data

    Ps3 - It plays Blu-rays!

Xbox 360 - It plays more popular video game titles with a larger and more reliable online community.

ps3 - Metal Gear...Socom franchise sucked so yea only got Metal Gear

Xbox 360 - Halo and Gears of War, both undeniably epic Xbox only titles

Ps3 - Free Internet and stuff when it works

Xbox 360 - Short quick scheduled maintenances w/ usually a week advance notice or more. You pay for this tho $7.99 a month >.>

No im sorry I cant even begin to laugh enough here ps3 online is in no way comparable to Xbox Live if you think it is im sorry but you are just severely misinformed. The Ps3 hardware might be dramatically better but gaming isnt all about graphics and the ps3 does not have everything running for it. Similarly the Xbox Vs ps2 was a 100% different topic, cuz xbox sucked except the modding culture and ps2 was just boss, socom 1-3 >.> soo good. Lots of cheaters but every game had lots of cheaters online in those times.

    Not really..

Security on LIVE is terrible. How many times has it been offline due to security breeches? 2x already this year and the fact you can go online with hacked consoles makes online even worse with all those aimbots and hacks ingame.

PSN has its own servers which you get to use for free, vs LIVE that charges you $60 a year so your OWN Xbox and connection can act as a server in MP games and comes with the usual host advantage lag crap. Is the main reason Xbox games dont have a sever browser any more.

The more popular games? All the top rated games on Xbox are cross platform while PS3 top games are exclusive. So with PS3 you can play all the top games that are on Xbox PLUS all the higher rated PS exclusives too.

PSN is the busier community as every PS3 has free access to online, HOME with its 100's of free games and music videos n movie services. LIVE is almost a wasteland with how empty it is since only about 50% of users buy LIVE Gold.

Also paying for DLC, most PS3 games come with extra content or some DLC for free on the disc vs having to pay for everything on LIVE. You even get full free versions of older games included on disc with new PS3 games while you again have to buy these freebies on LIVE.

Plus the fact the Xbox is the most unreliable piece of hardware in history ever sold, vs PS3 having typical electrical goods reliability.

Then games... Xbox - Shooter, shooters, and some cross platform games.. Vs PS3 with 64-256 online player games, Free Dust 514 mmo shooter and other free mmo's , LBP with its millions of free user generated levels. Portal 2 with Steamworks and free copy of PC version included in box vs Xbox money grabbing DLC and no user generated content.

Pay LIVE and get nothing for free, pay optional PSN + and get £100 + worth of games for free a month plus beta access to games and discounts on brand new games, sometimes upto 80% off.

Then the fact the Xbox dashboard is an advert loaded spamfest, is like using Internet Explorer with no adblocker on some bad porn site. Audio n sounds blasting from these adverts every time you just want to get to gaming tab, which has been moved recently so you HAVE to view these spam ads just to get to the gaming part, the main part of the device lol.

You even need to pay LIVE to enable the web browser lol, that doesnt support Java or Flash so is pretty much useless for most sites anyway.

PS3 browser isnt much better but it does do full internet and "watch online free" mostly fine vs Xbox phone type browser restricted crap that cant show almost any website properly.

Obviously OP doesn't want a PS3 but an Xbox 360. Posts like that are somewhat annoying. Why always start the debate of which console is better. It mostly always stays a personal opinion. I prefer an Xbox, you prefer the Playstation. Deal with it, and don't try to convince people on what's better because you like it more, and don't want to pay for online services.

Obviously the OP hasnt said either way what he wants and asking if the 4GB is fine or not seems to say he is newish to consoles. There is no comments saying he doesnt want a PS3 so why not give him all the info?

PS3 doesnt have party chat tho has 1080p bluray, Xbox is unreliable and costs money to let the thing access free internet services. Is like selling ice to Eskimos..

It seems quite obvious that when one asks for info about the Xbox console (for which HDD) he wants an Xbox console and not a PS3.

This thread is not about whether the OP should buy a PS3 or an Xbox 360; If he's already decided upon an Xbox 360, help him choose his version.

I never got the 250gb i always used the old school 20gig.

At a pawn shop the white box cost me 80$ and i got a 20gig HD at gamestop for 20$. Personally i think if your not going to download or copy a lot of games to your xbox just get a white one and ether a 20gig or 60gig HD but that's me.

Also *Don't know where you live* but at gamestop u can get a 1 year warranty for 20$ that covers everything so for the cost of around 120$ u can get a xbox it will be used but warranty threw them.

If your able to get it at gamestop you can get the warranty even on new systems.

Also to add the cost of a xbox 360 was around the same price of the one i got at the pawn shop i just didn't notice it at the time lol.

also with the slim if you wanted you could get a cheap 4gig and go to a store and buy a bigger harddrive for cheaper then what it would cost for the 250gig.

There is youtube videos telling you how to do that its not hard to do at all.

Well it is near a requirement for online use to get atleast one of the OLD RROD white xbox's w/ the "20gb HDD" mind you its 12 usable but its still the bottom line for real online use and simply for some games.

    Just a little extra info:
    http://www.polygon.com/2012/11/9/362...ubled-to-32-gb
    Yay?

You can do all the extra stuff like buy the cheaper version then replace the HDD, or you could just go ahead and buy the 250GB already supplied. My suggestion is to buy the extra space. It only took me 3 months when the 120gig Elite came out to fill the HDD up completely.

well to the guy that asked, i live in norway, and it looks like i will go for the Xbox 360 slim 250gig, beacause it seems all of u agree that 4gig wont be enought if i am going to DL some stuff so thanks again guys

np and ya 4gigs won't work and if you plan to play any halo games they don't see the 4gig as a harddrive so some modes you can't play.

So, you tell him not to install a new hard drive, and then link to a store page for a new hard drive. That makes no sense. Also, you don't have to open the Xbox or void the warranty to swap out hard drives. There's a side panel you pop off on the slim models that gives access to the hard drive. On the old models there's a button and you just pop off the old and pop on the new.

To answer the OP: I recommend getting the 250GB or a 320GB special edition. Only 4 GB is not enough for normal usage. I think the best option would be getting one of the holiday discounted packs (pretty much all of them right now), such as the Halo 4 Limited (if you were going to buy Halo 4 anyway) or one of the other bundles. 250GB should be plenty, so I wouldn't fret over 250 or 320; just pick the bundle that fits your needs best.

Disclaimer: following section is last time I checked. Info could be outdated
To people saying that the hard drive is just a laptop drive, yes, yes it is just a laptop drive, but it is specially formatted. You cannot buy any laptop drive, stick it in the old casing / adapter, and expect it to work. The process is complicated and hard to do for most people, as it involves having one of the few compatible model hard drives, one of the few compatible hard drive sizes, a properly configured SATA connection that can function as an IDE, and then running software on a boot CD (not in Windows). Unless you research it all beforehand and are 100% confident that you can carry out this process, you are better off buying a hard drive already set up to work as a 360 internal hard drive.
    END DISCLAIMER

Using an external storage over USB (such as a flash drive or external hard drive) can work, but only in certain situations. It will work fine for game saves. Just don't expect to buy an external hard drive, plug it in via USB, and expect it to work the same as an internal hard drive. I would do some research about how it works exactly if you plan to go that route.

TL;DR: Get a Microsoft Xbox bundle with a 250GB or 320GB hard drive (one of the ones with 4 games or one like the Halo 4 Limited).

Yeah. It clearly says, "320GB HDD Hard Drive for Xbox 360 Slim". He said not to get a hard drive because changing them out would void the warranty, and then he linked a store page to a hard drive.

    What am I missing here?
