    Waiting tables is more profitable.

im not really making much real money in it but items that i paid around 1 million gold are selling for £2 and then i just buy some gold from the balance which means a 600-700% gold profit so its a little boost, but only the decent set items sell.

So? They had to make a choice.
At first their economy was pretty good but people didn't like the game. Now more people like the game but it has had effect on the economy.

Apparently they can't have it all. And unsatisfied customers are a bigger worry than their in-game economy apparently.

I haven't Played D3 in a while, but during the time from release til the release of World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria, I made over 600 bucks, but people bought stupid shit all the time.

buying -14lvl weapon for 50 bucks. (46 equip)

The people bought gold when the price was still good, that was awesome.

Yeah I was one of those that made 100's of millions from breaking jars.

Hell no one liked talking about buying stuff for gold and reselling it on the RMAH, cause it was and still is against the RMAH ToS. I just sold them a week later is all.

So glad D3 was not like Wow, and items became soulbound, never would of made shit otherwise.

Ok, so I just got my Paypal and stuff set up. I was looking around my stash finding the things I could sell. I noticed my stack of Tome of Secrets, and though "I wonder". Given their abundance, I was guessing a couple pennies each, and you'd have to have a ton to make any kind of money. But, 25 cents each. So 100 for $25. Surely not, right? How do commodities work then? There's no way people could make that much off things you can buy for next to nothing on the gold auction house.

Nobody buys tomes on RMAH so dont think u can sell 100 for 25e/dollars

Made over 2000 dollars haven't played the game since MoP launched. Market was already starting to dry up some around then.

The real time to make money in the game was the first few weeks the RMAH was live. Unfortunately I couldn't make use of that time because I was on vacation though.

The only items that would sell now are above average roll on a legendary that's sought after, a perfect legendary, or a really good rare. How well these might sell I don't know, but these items aren't even going to go away. There will always be a market for them.

I wouldn't say it's profitable right now, even though I don't play. What the game needs in the coming months is more affixes and more items (a lot) infused into the game to reset but not fully reset the gear that people have/looking for.

Just to show you how game prices have fluctuated:

IK chest (1 week after RMAH launched) - Sold this for 75 dollars. Item was awful and I probably could have made more

Stormshield (1 week after RMAH launched - I never found one but these were selling for 200-250 dollars because they were the only good legendary. When I found one after the legendary revamp I think I sold it for maybe 15 dollars

Witching Hour - Found this in August, sold it for 225 dollars. Was only an average roll too.

Some legendary 2 handed axe (the good one) - Sold this for 200 dollars in August as well

You just really need to know when to buy and sell. If you have a good mind you can decipher when to dump and when to stalk up based on upcoming changes/bugs. When they buffed primary stats on off-hands and shields at the end of July (or early August) it instantly diminished what was a previously good off-hand prior. My WD offhand which I could have sold for tens of millions of gold (high critical strike, socket, 100 int, MP5, socket and % health) became worthless in the next patch. Why? Because the primary stats were buffed A LOT on these items and the market flooded with lots of off-hands shield that were now 200+ primary stats, instantly making a good roll like the 100 int I had all but worthless. Primaries have an absurd effect on your DPS as your IAS/crit/crit damage scale up too. My WD before I stopped playing was at like 120k unbuffed DPS and each point of intellect was giving him like 40 damage.

It just seems to be really hit or miss, and there is not a lot that an individual can do to control that. If you like the idea that you could get lucky playing Diablo 3 and potentially make a bit of money, it's still kind of cool. If you want to do it specifically to make money there is just no way to get a consistent supplementary income out of very small, very random chance.

I'm saving up for an Ipad (or trying at least) and my paypal is at $265+ right now. The price of gold is dropping fast so my hopes are going down everyday /cry I'm quitting once I hit Paragon level 100 (at 81) so it's not looking good for my dream Ipad. But everyday I hope I get that 1 crazy good item that's worth 1bil+! fingers crossed

How about gold then? Would it be more profitable to sell everything for gold, and then sell the gold you make for real money?

Gold has always been profitable meaning sell now before it keeps crashing.

I earned almost 900 euro the first weeks of RMAH release in europe selling the gear I had on my 300k dps Demon Hunter.
Checked in a week ago and saw that the same gear would have given me around 100 euro now.

    Im pretty happy.

I'm just wishing something I have on the RMAH would sell. Would make me feel a little better about trying. You and others should know my luck on drops in this game.

I haven't sold a dam thing on the RMAH in a very very long time with the exception of gold and you know I am the master of the auction house, I haven't found a GG item in awhile so that doesn't help oh and I owe a ridiculous amount of gold to a close friend /cries in a corner

And this grind is killing me ._. /cries more

    Around 6500 dollars.

I had far less (around 140 Euro up till now), but I purchased this:

    http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/2464/swords-sorcery

A fantasy board game I was searching for 32 years already...

The fact I could purchase it on Ebay with money earned by playing Diablo 3 ... is awesome.

    Eternal love for D3...

Also: a nice advice: play some board game dungeon crawlers too: it will get you hooked on D3 even more !
