patch 5.1 coming soon?

So does anyone know if the patch coems anytime soon? im sitting on valorcap with no upgrades to spend it on..

Do you guys think 5.1 will be here soon or is it time to buy vp items and dissenchant it? does valor item dissenchants into blood spirits?

I reckon it depends on what you consider 'soon'. It looks like the PTR build is tagged for release, so, yes, it's coming soon. But how many weeks do you want to wait?

Personally, I'd level alts or do something else rather than burn Valor, but I understand why you wouldn't want to 'lose' them if you're running content anyway.

Would be nice to have something new to do over Thanksgiving break, but that is probably too soon, and frankly(I say this as a former developer) a recipe for disaster dropping a major patch two days before Thanksgiving.

i dont usually keep track of the patch notes but why do you say its a major patch? from what i remember all there is, is class changes/fixes, brawlers guild or w/e its called and a new scenario?

not saying its major patch, its the upgrade item feature im wating for :P oh and i guess there could be one or 2 upgrades from the new 496valor rewards aswell.

Amongst other stuff, also the next part of the Wrathion quest, so lots of other quests etc, and the item upgrade

If by disaster you mean that you need staff working during the break, then yes. If you are concerned about people not playing due to Thanksgiving, then.. not a valid concern, as Europe/Asia isn't celebrating Thanksgiving.

5.1 includes:
Content:
Brawler's Guild
Pandaria Offensive daily hubs
Pandaria Offensive scenarios
Pandaria Offensive quest chains
Chapter 2 of Wrathion quest chain

Features:
Upgrades for currency (ilvl upgrades for honor, valor, justice, and conquest points on existing items)
LFD features in Scenarios (replacement, leader, Justice points, vote kick)
Numerous Pet Battle additions
Transition for pre-MoP raids to be mechanically solo-able (not require raid group and changing some boss mechanics that required a 2nd or 3rd person no matter the gear level)

And of course many other small improvements or bug fixes, but the above is what makes it a "major" patch.

My say, after Sha of fear heroic is down.. 5.1 is gonna change the raid balance, and well I think nobody wants it to hit before sha is down

I expect it to happen on the 27th.

I don't see it happening next week because that's Thanksgiving's week in the US, and Blizzard tends to avoid releasing patches on weeks with national holidays, as the support staff has to be out of the office on those days.

I remember a quest (Alliance side) when you arrive in Pearlfin village and Sky Admiral Rogers says: "I've been ordered back to the main battlegroup to provide carrier escort. The full might of the Alliance navy will arrive in two months' time." (thanks to wowhead).

25th of september / 25th of november (around) maybe ? As we know that 5.1 will focus on Alliance vs Horde. I can't see why a NPC would say "two months" otherwise. It's not the first time there are hints like this in the game.

I have no idea and no fact but my hunch is, that it won't be that long. Meaning that I'm not spending more VP, unless I reach the cap and have to spend some not to waste it. But if people's predictions are right, it is indeed time to save up your VP.

Yeah too soon, i'm not done with the old dailies and they are bringing in a new load of them... I wonder if we will get new ones every content update.

*on a serious note, i'm not realy waiting for it since it doesn't contain any raid content, only thing i would want already is the change to tiger fists but thats just a minor change.
