But does anyone know if they'll have similar sales at Christmas? Will they be as extensive and cover some of the same games?

Edit: And someone told me theres some promotional offers for games going free?! Is that true? Where can I find out which ones? I once managed to catch a promotional offer for Portal 1 and got that free but I can't remember when that was, and I've never seen any others.
Christmas and summer are their big sales, Halloween and autumn tend to be smaller. I mean, this sale was about 5 days or so, Christmas sale is Dec 20 to January either 4 or 7, I can't remember which, so about 3 times longer. Since there isn't a huge gap I'm imagining most of the winter sales will be the same percentage off as this sale, maybe some of the 50% will become 66% or 75%.

Well spent 44$ for 6 games and 5 dlc. Not too bad, I'll probably get the higher costing games during winter sale when I have some steam cash gift cards coming my way. What was everyone's damage for this years autumn sale?

Also if anybody was wondering about game soundtracks. The files are stored in your steam game folder on your hard drive( C:/program/steam/steamapps/ etc.....), so you can put them on your mp3 player or such. Just took a little while to find them. Went on and bought the Bastion soundtrack. Man i love that game, and the music is pretty sweet.

Ok I went ahead and got The Witcher 2 enhanced and Just Cause 2 because both are ~75% off. About 12 bucks for two games that should be a lot of play time. 3 games so far incluing Deus Ex. Pretty good deals if you ask me.

Only 350gb left on my hard drive : \ I might need to start deleting porn. But seriously. 75gb music folder, 105gb movies folder. That's not that big. Maybe just another hard drive.

I have a problem I spent about $120 and I spent another 50 on Assassins Creed 3 right before the sales.... But I think I got a lot of stuff pretty cheap, lots of DLC and I've been dying to get XCOM.

Also Borderland 2 Season pass is 22.99 on GMG right now and I'm about to pick that up then that's it I swear!

    Bastion is a good game.

For an Indie game, it's pretty damn good! Everyone should buy it, story is pretty good and the fight mechanics are nice. Also, amazing songs!

Wow, Witcher 2 is taking forever to download :/

Everybody always talks about how great Bastion is every time it goes on sale. I seem to remember playing the demo during the summer sale and not being impressed. Going to give the demo another try though, will most likely wait for Winter sale even if I do decide it's worth getting.

And to think when Steam was released in 2003 I was one of the few who really enjoyed it. Now look at it, the place to buy games these days. Who knows what you will be able to buy there in 10 years.

The demo doesn't really do it justice. It's got one of the most unique settings and storylines in any game I've seen with great combat to go with it. I don't know anybody who played through the game and didn't like it. It's a little on the short side if you don't do all the little side challenges, but still very much worth the purchase.

I'm guessing if Dragonborn is released mid to late December on PC it probably won't go on sale right away even with the Steam sales...

Yeah, that close to winter sale I doubt any discount at all. Maybe 10% preorder if it's not out yet.

Woot! Red Faction collection! I clicked it and only bought 1 and 2, one of my favorite childhood PC games. Multiplayer with bots was so much fun.

Is anybody else seeing today's daily's lasting till Wednesday noon? I've seen other jpg's and videos showing the sale ending Tuesday at noon. Just wondering.

Either it's an error, or they're just leaving them up for a day after the sale ends in order to have them up 48 hours like the rest of them.

Well it's technically still the 26th at Valve's Head Quarters, located in Washington.
