I worked retail too many years when I was younger, now I stay the hell away from the stores on Black Friday. No sale is worth dealing with that mess.

Nothing, and I'm glad. For one, I didn't have to deal with the crazies, for another, I was able to save what little money I have for when I need it, and lastly because I preferred to sit at home enjoying the day with a cup of hot cocoa, playing Halo 4 while watching it snow outside.

not really that big in the UK so nothing D: a few shops do a sale, but its no way on the scale of the US sales. though sometimes Amazon do pretty good sale.

for some reason i cant just edit my previous post :<

was amazed to see how crazy some people go over a sale, saw some posts on reddit of people starting to camp out a few days before, seems a bit weird.

Your online purchases go through customs? Not trying to sound like a jerk, honestly asking out of curiosity.

Sure. If you pay, let's say, $50 on the US Amazon, that's some 35/40€. However, you have not paid the compulsory 19% VAT that Germany has. You have to add these 19% before you can pick up your item at the customs office. Otherwise everybody would be ordering from the much cheaper US market.

So, you have to find something that is still cheaper than the German item after adding 19% VAT to the desired item.

But given the fact that it's BF and discounts go like crazy, it might be worth buying from the US Amazon store. We should be allowed to benefit from it, too. Business does not care WHERE the money comes from.

I don't even like the idea of sales taxes here in the states. VAT would make me the biggest miser on the planet.

As for today, didn't buy a thing. Didn't even leave the house, I'm just waiting for more delightfully entertaining videos of folks trampling each other for cell phones to hit Youtube.... which is really all today is good for anyhow.

Bought a decent pair of casual dress boots online last night. Was going to go back to the store to buy them, then looked online and found them for $22 less than in the store.

There's no such thing as a Black Friday in my country, but i did buy Starcraft II today for the 50% off price online (20 dollars) and i guess it's that low because of the Black Friday.
