Heroic Will of the Emperor 25m - Help needed

We've been progressing fairly well through heroic MSV (spending 2 raid nights at most on each heroic kill). Yet we seem to have hit a wall at Will of the Emperor. We tried using mages and dks to keep the rages cc'd but for one reason or another they seem to get out of control. With 5.1 coming soon at the Ring of Frost nerf, that will not be a viable strat. So we then tried killing rages but it doesn't seem to be working too well for us.

    Here's our guilds logs http://worldoflogs.com/guilds/87010/

Any advice anyone has would very much be appreciated thanks!

Sounds silly but for the RoF strategy are you keeping an ice trap(from a non sv hunter) down constantly? We had problems with rages running through both sides of the RoF until they were perma slowed.

We were using hunter traps at times (but often the mages didn't want us using them so they could see where to put their RoF).

5.1 is hitting this week, so I'm looking for a viable strat for us now.

Took us 2 days with the ring tactic, but that wont really be viable anymore (force your 4 mages to not move there mouse the whole fight so they perfectly overlap), best is to just stack up 2sets of ragers aoe em down and use a hunter/shadowpriest to soak the orbs up rince repeat.

Do you assign dps to certain targets? Ie ranged on rages, or have all dps attacking all adds?

There's different approaches to a non-RoF kill (for instance you can CC a rage wave and AoE down 8 or whatever), but when we abandoned the RoF strat and switched to a normal comp we just killed everything as it spawned for simplicity and got on the boss during intermission. The difference when compared to the RoF approach is obviously in the DPS requirements, but by far the most important thing about learning the fight without using RoF is to make sure every DPS in your raid understands that the only thing that matters is killing Rages.

Absolutely every DPS should be on rages when they spawn, killing them as fast as possible, and you should be stunning and slowing them without rooting (otherwise melee die), and punting them back as needed etc. Rages might seem trivial but they are the only add type that can easily get into your raid and kill people, and they need to die relatively grouped to help with efficient spark soaking. If they are consistently breaking out and taking a while to die you will fall behind on everything else and get overwhelmed. Once the rages die everything else is fairly trivial, courages will need a slow but assigning one person to each side to do that should be fine, and only the first strength of each "wave" needs to be killed, the other will die gradually to tank damage and dots while all DPS are focusing the boss during intermission.

Also, don't forget the pattern to the fight - it comes in waves in which you get three sets of rages, two sets of strengths and one set of courages, usually followed by an intermission where you can get free boss damage. Specifically it goes rage, strength, rage, courage, rage in terms of spawn times, so you should be killing the first rages, the first strengths, the second rages and the courages, and then finishing off the final rage wave and getting on the boss (use warlock ports to help melee get from the third rage wave to the boss if needed). You can ignore the final strength. The only exception to this is at the beginning of the fight where the bosses spawn instead of an intermission, and at the end where adds keep spawning.

So you want to kill two "waves", and then you get intermission, third wave, intermission, fourth wave, intermission, then you kill the fifth wave and then get back on the boss, CCing everything in the final wave and finishing the boss. You want to do about a quarter of the boss hp in each intermission so they are at about 25% when you get to the last wave and have to start CCing. Then you can use a second hero and end the fight.

    Hope that helps.
