I know it doesn't have a video card/OS, I have those covered already, but I guess I'm gunshy to pull the trigger on this. I know the motherboard is limited with only 2 ram slots, and since its a micro-atx it will give less room. I guess my question on this build is since this processor is a 3rd gen i7, will it work on this mobo, it says it covers the same socket the LGA 1155, but I'm just looking for a *this build should work, or a this build wont work* I think I got everything right that should work together just asking for someone to look at it and give me your opinion.

It will work. As in, it will turn on. Now, it may be suboptimal on certain points, but that proc and board are compatible.

as far as i know, the number after LGA is the number of pins in the socket, so your LGA 2011 processor wont go into a LGA 1155 motherboard.

It's socket 2011 processor, Sandy Bridge -Extreme series and socket 1155 motherboard for Ivy Bridge, so no, it does not work. Also the $13 heatsink is probably worse than what Intel ships with the SB-E series.

You should instead go for the usual ASRock Z77 Extreme4 and i5-3570K in regular gaming computer. If you want to OC there are plenty of reasonable options for extra CPU heatsink/fan.

With that processor you'll want an x79 board, about £200 (assuming you use pounds), If you are on a budget you would be better off getting a z77 board and the i5 3570k and a better processor fan.

Hmm, I guess I have to go back to the drawing board on this one then. How do you know what board will support what processor? i thought it was the chip type the lga 1155.

the board is a 1155, but the processor you picked is a 2011, and that wont fit in the board you picked.

You could get an i5 3570k and a lower end Z77 board for the same price, its the newer upgraded version.

I would go with a 3570K over a 2500K. The processor itself is $220 and you can grab a $105-$125 motherboard like the P8Z77-V LK or Extreme4

The extreme 4 looks nice, it says its an ATX, im not too familiar with cases sizes, the case I was looking at is an Mid-ATX, would I need a full ATX to get it to fit? Sorry Im new to building comps, lol.

ATX Full Tower is pretty huge and around 30% more expensive. Most people go with ATX Mid Tower. Both should fit an ATX mobo like the Extreme4 or P8Z77-V LK. The motherboard sizes supported should be listed in the description of the case under a heading like "motherboard form factor".
