    can't decide on ram or cpu cooler need help!

    so i'm in the process of selling my current computer and buying a whole new computer, so far what i have is;

    Gigabyte HD7870 GPU
    AsRock Z77 Extreme Mobo
    Western Digital 2TB Black HDD
    Seasonic M1211 620W PSU
    i5 3570k CPU
    (don't think i'm leaving anything out)

    i plan to OC the CPU and i know i should probably get a better CPU cooler than the stock one because people always seem to say they're shit for OC'ing and i don't know what ram to get either, i only need roughly 8 GB 2x4 GB sticks should do fine, i feel 16 would be over kill, and i know to aim for 9-9-9-24 but there's so fcking many different types i get confused as hell, and with the after market CPU cooler they range from 15 - 144 $ i don't know which i should choose for my current build.

    i'm ordering all my parts from this website;

    http://www.pccasegear.com

    any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Basically if you go with RAM from one of the following manufacturers, you're pretty much golden for no problems.

    Corsair, Mushkin, G. Skill, Kingston, Crucial, and Samsung.

    In no particular order, they're pretty much all on par with each other.

    For simple gaming, I just suggest a 2x4GB pair at 1600MHz, 1.5v, 9-9-9-24.

    also H100(i) as high end cooler.
    g skill and corsair are my favored brands regarding ram. (performance and reliable wise)

    Get the lowprofile RAM instead of the ones with a big large heatspreader.

    Uhmm... those are only 1333MHz. Not that it's a big performance difference, but the 1600MHz ones aren't really more expensive.

    You should get

    or

    Why do something simple, when there is a complicated way?
    Ryzen 7 2700X | BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 | 16GB DDR4-3200 | MSI X470 Gaming Pro | MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G | 500GB / 750GB Crucial SSD
    Fractal Define C | LG 32UK550 | Das Model S Professional Silent | CM Storm Xornet

    I'll back this up, though the orange RAM is definitely for a niche group of people... not sure what G. Skill was thinking there! Either way, two spectacularly good sets of RAM.

    I'd go with GSkill RAM. 1866Mhz DDR3 or 1600Mhz DDR3 ram would be good.

    Here's a 1866Mhz kit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231416

    As for the the cpu cooler, below is one of the more popular ones. A closed water cooling system.

    No reason to buy the H100 now, since the H100i is out.

    Ill have to check it out when I get home tonight cant recall off the top of my head but the voltage wasnt tweaked very much at all which I was surprised. I normally get the unlucky chips that have some ridiculous voltage needed to not BSOD. Its a Costa Rica chip also, normally get Malaysia's so if that would have any play in it. My wife won't let me OC her build yet cause "it does what she wants" and hers is a Malaysia Id really like to test the differences.

    Edit 12/1/12: Yurano I just checked my numbers again I set at a 1.168 voltage@4.4ghz at idle coolest core is at 26c and hottest core is at 31c. My max temps hit 40c on the coolest core and 44c on the hottest core. That was tested after playing skyrim for about an hour then switching over to WoW and running a 25man LFR. Running a multi hour prime95 it sits at a 65c max. It was really surprising for me to hit that high with hardly any voltage increase because my i5 750 was ridiculously power hungry at 3.75.
