I'd give you an inch, you'd take me a mile, your tail wagging happily all the while.

Cold is the worst, I suppose as long as it is accompanied by snow, it's a wash.

It's a compromise I'm happy to get. Can't imagine how boring a winter without snow must be

During heavy snow, I usually spend 15 minutes clearing a path to my truck and 20-30 trying to clear the snow off of my truck. It's even worse when you aren't very tall and you have a huge truck

Yeah, and if you get an inversion, the snow just looks like ash.

Don't come to Utah, Jeav. I think it snowed once in early October, but it's been pretty dry this year.

It's been really dry the past two years over here
I kinda miss the Alaska winters where we would get heavy snow 8 months out of the year.

Makes you appreciate summer even more! There's no better feeling than to watch the tulips break through the snow in spring, hear the river crackle and small streams flow. Summer birds are coming back and sing for you as you sit on the porch drinking your morning coffee.
It's almost a religious feeling those few early spring months

And then a day later the temperature drops 30 degrees and everything dies? I think that happens more often than not.

Haha! Fortunately we have pretty stable climate in Sweden/Norway. Once spring begins, it's here to stay.
Although we can get pretty nasty heatwaves during springtime. 10 years ago we had spring in February with temperatures of 20 to 25 + Celsius, the entire summer was insane as well, like 35+ Celsius. Our grass plains were pretty much scorched and we barely had any flowers that year xD

Oh yikes, 90s is mostly unheard of here.

    That's a really hot "spring" (I don't consider February spring ).

Are your Februaries always the beginning of spring, especially that hot?

Ya, it was nuts. Being born there and having lived there for most of my childhood, I'm used to it.

This is what I have to use to get the snow off of my truck. http://i00.i.aliimg.com/img/pb/468/6...628468_542.jpg

Must have been a hell of a transition from Alaska to Washington.

Nah that was a really special February and year. Spring generally begins in late March, early April with temperatures at around 10-15+ Celsius.
Our hottest time of the year is in July, August and it tends to get pretty nasty during that time and it's not that unusual with temps around 30-35 and even 40+ some years.

That's still quite warm. That doesn't sound bad at all.

The cities are bigger and nicer, more people, weather is far less brutal, far less snow, and way hotter summers. I miss beautiful Alaska but glad to be here in Washington. Alaska is just too isolated.
If I still lived there, the chances of me working on a crab boat like on Deadliest Catch would probably be 90%
I grew up around crab boats and love the water but it's nice to have actual career options.
