I dunno, that's a LOT of images. I'm not exactly how sure you figure it out, but wouldn't there be 308M different combinations of letters alone? (this is assuming no numbers are used as well) That's for 6 letters though.

afaik capital letters and normal letters are different for the Imgur database, so that's (48+10)^5 combinations for their last set. Which would be... 656.356.768 combinations

And 2.207.984.167.552 with 7 characters.

That's still a pretty big number and I'd be extremely surprised if there were truly just under a billion photos on imgur, granted, some of the combinations cannot be used, and there could be redundancies and they probably would want to set it up before it got close to capping, but still.
