I don't know why. It's like watching a sporting event. Most commentators either talk like they expect the viewers to be complete retards who have never heard of the sport, or you're watching basketball and they're just sitting there talking about the celebrities that are at the game (because to them, that's more interesting than the game itself). If I'm watching a game, I want to know what's going on, not Jay-Z's fashion choices.

Oh, I wasn't talking about the commentators. It was the players.

Apparently the two players that played against each other met in earlier tournaments, so they knew each other. So whenever they meet in tournaments, they just sit and do friendly talk while they play. They are both amazingly good players, and it's really nice watching two people play that well while being so casual and friendly about it.

One of the guys even popped a fetch land, and the other guy asked if he should shuffle the deck so he could think about what he wanted to do with the mana. So while he sat and thought about if he should throw down a creature or kill his opponents Bloodbraid Elf, his opponent just sat and shuffled his deck casually. I think that's amazing. I would love to play in such a tournament
