They fixed almost every problem with gen 1 and doubled the content without resorting to shitty rematches and battle tower things. It includes everything gen 1 had and more.

Don't include Crystal in this though, it was shit and added nothing over G/S.

I couldn't get over the whole "time of day" bullshit for catching pokemon.

Probably not. The Gen 3 games were the only ones that I actually bothered to finish. Gen 2 had far too many flaws to speak of, I never touched Gen 1 and it would feel awkward after beating FR, while Gen 4 and 5 are way way too slow and even downright obnoxious for me. The part in Black 2 where you were forced to go to that movie-making thing was what made me abandon it, for example.

Easy fix for the DS. It goes off your system time, so if you really want it, just hack it to the time/season you want.
