Making the most of Prowl/Spirit Walk

Cats and spirit beasts have a 20% damage bonus to their first attack from stealth.
does this include strong special attacks like Blink Strike and Kill command; or does it only refer to basic attacks (bite/claw/smack) or does it only refer to Melee attacks?

I currently use the Blink Strike talent; should i open with Blink Strike to guarantee that it receives the 20% damage bonus? Is there any way to guarantee that it's Blink Strike that gets the benefit of the damage bonus?
