AFAIK Polearms have different animations to 2h swords, axes, maces, so probably not.

From what Blizzard say they would allow you to transmog to different weapon types, but only if they share similar animations. I don't know exactly what they're planning but based on that it puts transmoggable weapons into the following catagories:

Staff <> Polearm

2h Sword <> 2h Mace <> 2h Axe

1h Sword <> 1h Mace <> 1h Axe

Dagger

Fist Weapons
